Flash bios

You don't want to mess with flashing the bios unless you really know what you're doing.

Also the fact that you don't have a cd drive is another problem in crisis moments like this. Never, Never buy a computer without a cd drive because one day it's going to croak and you'll need the drive.

If you had a cd drive or can somehow get a usb flash drive that you could boot from then you could try the Check Disk Utility.

To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc or a operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot from it. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with white letters) and type the following command: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice the percentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run to completion. Then reboot machine.

If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows. Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs.

In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair when the options appear.

In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recovery console and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command.

Also check your memory. It could be your memory chips or one of the memory slots.

Remove the Power Cord, Remove the Battery, Remove the cover that houses the memory on the bottom of the laptop then remove one of the memory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x on it with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the next memory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set it aside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If it boots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and put it into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

I think you have a memory issue or one of your boot or system files is corrupt.

Check for a bad memory chip or memory slot.

I have an asus u52f or also known as the u53f with the windows 7 version i caught a virus n did not have the recovery disc after i ordered from asus n loaded the disc once i cam to the utilities n drivers...

Why didn't you just get rid of the virus which is the easy solution? Or you could have done a System Restore to a restore point (date and time) before you caught the virus.

Unfortunately most times those Recovery Discs don't work. The best Recovery Disk that works is the one the manufacturer puts on your hard drive.

Have you checked your hard drive to see if there is a Recovery Partition on it?

See if you can run the Check Disk Utility.

To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc ora operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot fromit. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with whiteletters) and type the following command: chkdsk /r

Need to reconnect internal video cables

I don't understand what you are trying to say, but this is what I think you're saying. The onboard video card went bad and now you need to put in another one so that you can connect the monitor.

If that's true, you don't put another video card on the motherboard. You go out and purchase a Video Card that goes into one of the available PCI Slots on the back of the computer. It goes inside, but sticks out the back so you can connect the cable from the monitor to it.

Why my webcam not working? need to instaill something?

If its a usb web cam, There should be a disc that came with it to install it. Its important to plug in cable when its says to do so ,if not it will have to be re-installed again. then don't plug it in until it tells you to then i think it will work. that's what I had to do for mine.

I can't find the software for webcam

If you are using Windows XP you can use the Samsung Play Camera program or any Instant Messenger application such as Yahoo Messenger or Windows Live Messenger.

Another free web cam utility is YawCam which you can also use for what you want.

Your install discs are bad. Please don't shoot the messenger. Call Toshiba for new discs. Here is the number (it took me 30 minutes to find this. Please give me a 4-thumbs-up rating. If you don't, I spent time away from family for free).

I lost my manual for my ge easy cam i need it to hok up my cam help please

Hookup should be fairly easy and straight forward, just plug it into the usb slot (assuming it's a usb device)windows should see the device and then begin the installation procedure. If it does this it will then ask you if you have the drivers for it, Install the installation disk and tell windows where to find the drivers. If you don't have the drivers you are going to have to go online and search out the drivers for this webcam and then download them and install them that way.

Hope this helps

You will need a software for video communication. I recommend installing Skype on both computers. If cameras are working properly, you should be able to communicate with your granddaughter.

You can download Skype here.
