Question about Lexmark C912 Led Printer

I have a lexmark c912. One day I noticed the colors weren't lining up properly. Shortly after that, there appeared a color distortion in the lower right corner. It was as if the magneta wasn't printing. If I printed many copies some would be ok and some would have the corner printing incorrectly. I called a friend who repairs copy machines, we don't have lexmark representative here. He came and cleaned it and played with the settings and voila it was printing fine. However he says he doesn't know what he did to make it print right. This lasted about 2 weeks and then the color misalignment reappeared. My friend told me that after cleaning it he set all the print settings to (color, callibration, etc.) to automatic, but I don't find this automatic option. I have been looking for the calibration settings and all I find is the manual settings (ex. "Cyan +6"). Also, I am not sure that if I calibrate it that the corner color problem will be ok. I looked online and several suggested the transfer unit be replaced. I have purchased another (second hand) but I would prefer to know more before I just start replacing parts. If anybody has an idea what could be wrong and what I could/should do I would be very grateful. Sincerely, george

The proper color alignment is in the Config settings. This should only be done a certified tech. Can really screw things up bad if you don't know what you're doing. I am a Lexmark Tech.

Clean the print nozzles as follows:

  1. Go to Start, Programs, Lexmark, Lexmark Solution Center (or Lexmark Control Program) and select the Cartridges tab.
  2. Select Cartridge Nozzles (or Clean Print Nozzles).
  3. Check the diagonal lines above and below the solid horizontal lines. The diagonal lines should be continuously solid from left to right, with no gaps.
  4. If there are gaps at the top that diminish at the bottom, run the Clean Print Nozzle page a few more times. If the gaps are gone, the Clean Print Nozzle page has probably resolved the problem.
  5. If the gaps still exist, you should unblock ("wick") the cartridges. See How to Unblock/Wick the Cartridge Nozzles.

I re-cleaned cups and wiper between cups with syringe and meth. spirits. Also realised that the cartridges that I had tried that hadn't printed could have melted the jets, so found an old one , filled it right up, then withdrew at least 2cc with refill kit tools. Prints fine now.

There was a lot of sticky ink residue on the wiper (what I assume the strip between the two rest cups is) that could have blocked jets.

Go into the control panel. Select printers. Move the mouse over to the printer icon. Press the right mouse button. Select properties. Select printing preferences. This is where it changes my mfg but make sure that print in grey scale isn't checked off or any other settings in the finish section that would disable you from printing in color.

If that doesn't work, it could be the contact points going to the cartridge on your printer. It could be the ribbon cable. If these are the case you should take it into a shop to specifically pinpoint what the problem is.

due i have also same problem..but the problem is that there was a slot of toner which is broken thats why its come.the main problem is that we cant by the slot have to by the total toner!!damn

The problem could be caused by the photoconductor units. Try to swap the affected photoconductor units (like swap the magenta with black and cyan with yellow). If problem still occurs, then the photoconductors need replacement. I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support for assistance. Thanks

Since the iphone is dropped from 4 feet, there would have been a physical damage to the display. If the phone is still under warranty or Apple care protection, you could take the iphone to Verizon store and replace the internal display. If the iphone is out of warranty, they might charge you for replacing the display for the phone. :-)

I've installed color cartridge but it won't print in color

Try to re-insert the color cartridge into the printer and make sure it is properly seated in the cartridge carrier.
If that doesn't help, try to clean the print nozzles. Please follow the steps below:
1. Press Copy. 2. Press Options until Maintenance appears on the display. 3. Press the right arrow until Clean Cartridges appears on the display. 4. Press Select. A nozzle page prints, forcing ink through the nozzles to clean the clogged nozzles. 5. Print your document again to verify that your print quality has improved.

New cartridge. test page printed just blue and black. typed some text using basic primary and secondary colors and colors weren't accurate and a blue line was printed through the text.

Unfortunately you have forgotten to say what your machine is?
Pls give us the make and model and we will know whether you have an inkjet or laser/Led printer.

Lexmark C912 not reporting toner properly

print the status page make sure the revision level in the lower right corner is greater than 803.04 if its not go to lexmark to update the code if it is greater than. press the right arrow until reset toner Lvl appears in the display press select. use the right arrow to scroll through the colors to be reset. when you get tot the color you want to reset hit select it should give a brief message resseting toner then move to the next one. when finished you will need to power the machine down and back on again before the changes will take effect.

What the error means:

The 994 Density Error indicates that the printer's system card has encountered an unrecoverable error.

What to do:

This error normally requires a service call. However, on certain rare occasions, such as a power fluctuation or a stray static discharge in the vicinity of the printer, can cause a false 994 Density Error message to appear. In such cases, the error is only temporary and can be easily resolved without service. Follow the steps in the table to check.

Step Action
1 Power the printer off, wait ten seconds, and then power the printer back on.

Did the error message return?

Yes: Continue to step 2.
No: Print a test page. If the page prints, the printer is functioning correctly.

2 If possible, connect the printer's power cord directly into a grounded wall outlet. In rare instances, a surge protector or uninterruptible power supply (UPS) can generate false error messages.

Did the error message return?

Yes: Continue to 'Contacting Lexmark' below.
No: Print a test page. If the page prints, the printer is functioning correctly

change your magenta led it sounds like that may be faulty big job if not theat then its a new rip baord which is under the cover

Colored Ink problem

Make sure the printer settings are set properly to print in color on the PC. Even if there is a color cartridge, if the PC only tells it to print black ink it's not going to use the color cartridge.
