Question about HP tx21274nr (2540839) PC Notebook

1 Answer

HP TX2-1274NR Touch Screen Notebook. Crashes under CPU Loads. At time when it crashes, screen wont power on or I get this blues screen. I can't tell if it is before or after POST. This is with or without be connected to external display. I did have the touch screen replaced. I'm more desktop tinkerer. This Includes stress tests(me trying to figure out if it is the gpu or cpu which i still dont know) and Gaming( I can only play games that are web based so no dedicated games like WoW or even old school Diablo(Fav!) or C&C). Can watch movies, Word process, and Surf the web with no problems. Had it"dusted" out and new thermal pads put on for both GPU and CPU. I have used different memory sticks as i thought that was faulty. If it helps. I have been monitoring Temps with CPUID. Normal operation (Web surfing) the average CPU temp is 80-85 C. Processor watt is a steady 11.4. I just want to add in this that as I type all of this I have 15 plus tabs open in Firefox(yeah, i'm a multisurfer) I leave it sitting on a really pricey notebook cooler all the time. Any Ideas what could be wrong??? Shoud I do the last thing I have been holding off on which is replace the motherboard??

The fist thing I would do is run sfc/ scannow, if that doesn't fix it I would suggest a full reinstall of windows if you haven't done that. The other thing is that being an HP it may be the onboard video dying, but since its running an ATI onboard card not nvidia I wouldn't think thats the case but if it is not cooled well it could be the problem.

PNY GeForce GT440 crashes every time I play a video game.

Hello try to renew the graphic driver from here:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

By selecting the model, and your windows system.

You can also use the auto find function.

By installing a small bit of software.

Maybe your power supply is too small for gaming performance
consider to upgrade that, if the driver update does not work.
I suggest a 500 watt PSU, so the graphic does not runs out of power.

Good luck

My pc compaq nc6220 cannot boot, some time it show disk controller failure, some time no disk system or disk error and som time a blue screen appear on my screen.please help me.

Hi,
Your hard drive may have crashed. This is so proven by the 'blue screen' technically referred to as 'the screen death'.
  • First, you may try removing the hard disk, leave it for a while and re-fix it again.Start the PC.What happens?
  • If still wont start, you may have to try and re-install the operating system again.
  • If the operating system wont install on the drive, replace it.

Hope this helps.Thanks!

Well, my computer sometimes starts up normally but sometimes when im in the middle of what im doing it turns to a black backround and a blue box shows in the center of the screen it says something about...

This is Probably the BSOD i.e. Blue screen of death error...
1. Uninstall any programs that you had installed recently. Sometimes, there is a conflict in drivers installed on your computer that causes the blue screen error to pop up. In most cases, this does not happen, but if it does, Windows provides you a roll back feature where you can bring your PC's operating system back to its original functioning state.
2. Random Access Memory is faulty. When the Random Access Memory is faulty, the PC stops functioning everytime that area of the RAM is accessed by the CPU. This causes your PC to halt almost at Random. A simple process of elminination is just to remove 1 stick of RAM and see if the problem goes away. If it does, your PC is fixed!
3. Registry Errors Over time, the registry of your windows gets cluttered with tons of information. If you experience slow down in your PC during boot up times, opening up of new folders, surfing windows, its likely your registry has a ton of information it needs to wade through. That being the case, its a good idea to get a good registry cleaner and improve the performance speed of your PC. Errors fixed in your registry can also prevent Blue screen error crashes.

Just got a refurbished HP Pavilion DV7-4165DX laptop. Right out of the box it blue screen crashes and continues to do this several times a day. I have used the backup partition to reformat/reinstall...

One of the main reasons for blue screen crashes is a faulty device driver.

RMB click "My computer" - LMB "Manage" - LMB "Device Manager" and look for yellow question marks in the device listing. If you find one, said device driver needs attention.

To find drivers for you laptop, go to the HP website, follow links for support and downloads entering details of you laptop and operating system as you go.

It may be worth the trouble of updating you drivers to the latest versions anyway.

My notebook starts then crashes, blue screen comes up. then it wont power up for awhile.

The pc crashes because something goes bad during the boot. To determine if it's a hard or sort problem you need to test the notebook by trying to boot from a Linux Live-cd like
http://www2.mandriva.com/
If you can boot and use it then Windows is corrupted - you will have to reinstall it. If you can't then it's hardware, you will have to take it to a repair shop.
