Hi

The rest may be corrupted. Maybe running check disk will help.

Goto my computer highlight that drive with the mouse, right click and pick 'properties' from the menu, goto the 'Tools' tab and click on "Check Now" check the selection for "Automatically fix file system errors" and click on 'Start'

Later, when reformatting, I suggest using the reformat selection in the camera's menus. That way, the new format is compatible with the camera by default, instead of messing with settings in Windows.

Thanks.

Ken

Before recovery, you should know that yourphotos are not erased actually. It stored on CF card as a file. When you formatthe card or deleted photos from the card, the data on which the images werestored is not deleted. Casio te 2400 How to download Z tape to Compact Flash Card

Found this on another website. I have not tried it to verify, but it sounds reasonable:
http://www.baystatepos.com/CasioTE-2400spec.html

Insert a CF FLASH CARD into the front of the register before taking a "Z" report. Turn the manager's key to Z1 and press CASH AMOUNT TENDER to issue a BATCH report of all sales activity, which prints from the register's receipt printer. This report information is also automatically written to the CF Flash Card capturing the register's terminal number and date of the report. This data is formatted as a "TXT" file and can be open with Microsoft EXCEL. Use EXCEL to combine multiple register totals. Create historical report data and e-mail the reports to corporate or to district managers. Saves time and reduces transposition errors.

Use the CF Flash Card to save the entire register program before moving the register to a new venue where it can be reprogrammed in a flash with the new menu.

you can try asoftech photo recovery software. You can see
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/
It tells the steps how to perform photo recovery.

If above does not work, you may have to format the memory card (use quick format), and then use above mentioned software to scan again the memory card and recover your files.

Kit-lens came with Canon Digital Rebel (original first model)

The lens itself won't corrupt your data. A bad lens would be unable to focus or be unable to communicate with the camera about focal lengths, aperture etc.
It is more likely the camera itself is starting to fail. The consumer Canons are only designed for around 100,000 photos - how many has yours taken? The 300D is quite old now, so will be starting to show its age.
How may CF cards do you have? If you a few, try them in turn, formatting each on the camera and seeing if you still get the errors. If you have another lens, try that also just to put your mind at rest. If all cards fail, the CF card interface of the camera could be failing. If you only have one CF card, get another (or two!!) and if it works OK, throw the old one away.
One extra piece of info: I had a 300D but upgraded to a 350D as the 300D has a nobbled CF interface making it about 6x slower. No point buying UltraII or UltraIII cards for the 300D as it just can't use them as intended. You really notice the speed increase moving to a 350D, but have to get used to the much smaller body size.

CF card

If on the camera, try a card reader. pop it out and put it in the reader and hook it to the PC.

If corrupted when viewing on PC. the card may need reformatting.

With CF card it is VARY important not to remove it while it is writing. best thing when taking it out of the camera is to turn the camera off and wait until it is fully powered down before removing the card.

Error code 22

ERR 22: CF DRIVER
DESCRIPTION: This error occurs when image data cannot be written to the CF card. This error can occur when the CF card is not fully seated in the camera or if the D30 does not detect a card-ready signal within a specified time limit or when the CF card is not usable because it has been corrupted or physically damaged. It can also occur when the camera's battery level is insufficient to completely write the file to the CF card. REMEDIAL MEASURE: Use the DC Coupler or recharge the battery first. If the error continues to occur with sufficient power available to the camera, check that the CF card is properly inserted. If that's not the problem, then try replacing the CF card. If that does not solve the problem, have the EOS D30 and one of the CF cards that is causing the problem examined by a qualified service technician.

You'll need a CF reader/adaptor for your computer, and software such as this

Just type "recover CF card data" and you'll find a host of downloads.
