I have here a asus p5pe-vm motherboard and the internet port is not working, my internet cord is plugged in and yet it shows that there is nothing plugged in

Make sure the port is showing up in device manager, if it is, try to update the driver, if not, find a driver to install. If neither work, pick up a usb to network adapter, best buy, newegg, etc., or get an add-in pci-network card.

There is no lan

Open Device Manager from Control Panel and check there are no yellow exclamation marks on any drivers. If there are then you need a new driver.

You need to goto the manufacturers website, find their support section and there should be a list of drivers for your specific machine. Installing these should resolve your problem, you will need the LAN, chipset or ethernet driver. I have a list of links to most manufacturers drivers on my website.
Hope this helps,

ASUS P5S800-VM Motherboard integrated RTL 8100 C LAN Card coul'd not be installed . driver from asus site doesn't match the card , driver from realtek site also .how can i find a right driver

I know Asus motherboards well. The P5S800-VM motherboard uses, Realtek 100/10 Mbps Ethernet Controller. (Its not a card) it is intergrated into the motherboard. Download and install, Realtek RTL8100C Ethernet Device Driver V5.505.1004.2002 directly from Asus. Open the link provided below;
http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=ZcyLktAZjt2bXqgs&content=specifications
Open the dropdown menu and click on you're operating system. There you will see a list of drivers. Click the + sign next to word LAN. You'll see the driver for RTL8100C. Download and install.

Asus p5pe-vm series motherboard driver wont work with windows 7

Windows 7 is still in the beta/testing stage from what I remember.

If you go to this page courtesy of ASUS:

http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

In the search box type in your motherboard p5pe-vm and click on P5PE-VM related files for download

It will come up with a seperate window that will ask you the OS that your installing and windows 7 is not an option which tells me that drivers aren't available for your motherboard just yet, it may down the line once windows 7 becomes publicly available.
