If this is a SIM carded phone then it's entirely possible that the SIM card got fried when the phone got wet. If this is a CDMA phone or one that doesn't require a SIM then most likely the component that gives you the signal and wireless network got wet.
Have you tried calling your phone provider and seeing if they can "activate" the phone again for you? Or if it's a SIM card based phone you can try to get a friend to put his SIM card in to make sure it still works or if the SIM card slot has gotten wet.
Hope this helps.

Hi,

Try to reset factory settings once. It should work after that step.
If not working go to service center.

Best Luck.

Never use a phone before it dries out completely. Take out the battery and put the phone and battery in a bag of uncooked rice for a day or two to get it dry, then put the battery back in, turn it on and hope.

Soaked iphone 3gs

There are products that you can buy to help dry the phone, like a bag of silica gel. I like using the free way, which is using a bag of dried rice. Whataver you do, do not attempt to turn on the phone, that will definitely ruin it, if the components are still wet inside.
  1. Take a bag of uncooked rice, and submerge the phone in the dry rice for at least 3 days. Keep the bag in a cool and dry place.
  2. After three days, if there is any indication that the phone is still wet, return the phone to the bag and wait another day.
  3. Once you believe the phone is dry (max 4 days) remove the phone from the rice, and attempt to turn it on.

Phone got wet.

Most likely the screen display had a shortcut. You need to replace it, although it's not cheap. Expect to pay a little less than the full price of the phone.

Next time spend more time drying the phone, you can even use a bowl with rice to immerse the phone and leave it dry for one full day.

Phone got wet & works fine but says network error

Cell phones do not recover gracefully from getting wet internally. The electronics were not made to get wet.
You would be better served to get a new phone. Getting a cell phone wet is almost alway death to the electronics, even if the phone is dried out completely, The problems caused by the damp electronics will cause strange and intermittent problems.

My cell phone briefly got wet in our pool. We have dried it out and now it only works off and on.

After getting a phone wet, the best way to dry it out safely and quickly is to pull the battery and bury the phone in a bowl filled with (uncooked) rice for a day. The rice acts as a desiccant and remove any excess moisture.
If the phone still does not work correctly, it may be time to find a replacement.

Wet cell phone

You should remove the back plate and the battery.

Let them sit in the sun or warm dry area (garage), dont put it in the oven or near it, for 2 days.

Try booting it up.

If you have tried to start it after is was soaked, this may not work.

Best of Luck.
