Find out the electronic circuit voltage

I am an electrical engineer and I do not fully understand your question. If the unit is designed to operate on 50/60 Hz, it cannot be damaged by operating it at either of those line frequencies. Mnay products today will operate at either line frequency. However, if you used an adjustable voltage power transformer (a.k.a. "Variac"), you may have "under-voltaged" or "over-voltaged" the device. If there is a circuit breaker, try resetting it. Otherwise, there may be a circuit board-mounted fuse internally that is now electrically "open." That can be tested with an Ohmmeter for continuity. (Finding a replacement may prove difficult.)

Operating a line-powered device above or below its input limitations can permanently damage internal power supply functions and, perhaps, other circuitry as well.

Solid state components can fail "open" or "shorted." If they fail "open" they will not draw appreciable current to "burn" them in any obvious way.

My EcoQuest Fresh Air unit stopped working. The fuse seems to be good. It will not turn on. Any suggestions?

A common problem with the Fresh Air when they are not cleaned regularly is heat build up, which may cause circuit board failure. There are two processors on the circuit board which burn out. The circuit board can be repaired rather than replaced at a very reasonable cost and one repair facility will guarantee their work for 1 year. Call toll free (336) 499-2505 between 8: 00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern time and they will gladly help you.

When I attempt to turn the unit on, the display flashes but wont stay on

The main circuit board is bad. The circuit board can be repaired with a one year warranty. Call (336) 499-2505 for more information.

My Flair stopped working correctly,so I purchased new Ozone plates. It still doesn't provide that clean ozone smell. I took mine apart and cleaned it and noticed a small bulb inside that doesn't light up....

pull the unit out of the enclouser and check the bottom for a circuit board and on the board their is a glass fuse see if it is blown. Also on that same board their is a small round black fuse that is labled f21 it is a 400ma 250 volt fuse on my unit and is soildered in this fuse is just for the ozone

Flair Fan

OK, good news and bad. Check the actual fan speed potentiometer with a ohmmeter. There are only two outs from the pot itself to the little circuit board that its attached too. The pot is 75K so make sure your ohmmeter is in the right range setting. With the meter connected, turn the dial and make sure it goes from 0 to between 70K and 75K ohms. If it doesnt or its all over the board, then the pot is the problem. Now I can't seem to find one that is a direct replacement, 75K is an oddball. I didn't un-solder mine from the board. If yours is bad, unsolder it and look on the back for the manufacturers part number, google that with the p/n as the search terms.

The circuit for the fan is not tied to the sanatize button. The circuit is relatively small, with two film capacitors, two resistors, a diode, and a triac. The circuit is on the board located underneath the unit. The circuit is located right next to the fan pot inputs on the main board. Its about 1" square with the "fan pot" inputs at the bottom left corner, if reading labels right-side-up. Resistors are almost indestructable so it is probably not them. I would lean towards the triac, diode, or caps. Look at the components and the solder connects in that circuit. If anything looks burned or black, or a solder joint looks like it has gotten too hot, that component is probably the problem. If its not the pot, which more likely than not it probably is, then I would lean towards the triac or diode. Here is the triac p/n:511-BTB06-600T. The diode I would also have to unsolder to access the part number, or I would list that as well.

I would start at the pot. That would be my guess as to what went bad. It could also be a bad solder joint on the small board the pot is soldered on to. Also check and clean the 1/4" disconnect terminals on the fan motor itself. For mine, I just cut off the old female terminals on the wires and crimped on new ones.
Hope this can give some help.

Light doesn't come on, does not purify the air.fan runs

If the little orange neon light no longer comes on, it is a problem with the high voltage board and transformer. The board sits on top between the plates and the fan.

In my instance, the board had become corroded and shorted the terminals of the voltage regulator located on the board. Also, the ground strap around the ferrite core of the high voltage transformer had become corroded an needed replacement. Also, check the circuit paths from the nearest components to the Voltage Regulator pads. Mine blew one of the circuit traces.

All in all, I replaced the Voltage Regulator, Mouser P/N: 595-UA78L12ACLPE3, Transistor P/N: 512-2N4403BU, Timer IC P/N: 595-NE555P.

The voltage regulator feeds the latter two, as well as the high voltage transformer, I replaced those components as a precautionary measure.

The terminals do get corroded, so check those as well. There are no terminals on the high voltage board other than on top of the proprietary potted black box that feeds the target and neon light. Be careful with the terminal on that box because it breaks easy once corroded. As mine did.

Those components fixed my problem with the high voltage board and no neon light.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

My flair works o.k. except the santinizer doesen't work. I have one ozone plates that is broke on the corner of the plates and there is a black line running through it. Could this be the problem?

The ozone plate will not cause the sanitizer button to not work but it may have caused the button to short out. The sanitizer switch probably needs to be replaced. The plate definitely needs replacing, when there is a crack in the plate it causes an electrical arc which is burning the black line onto the plate. Please remove and throw away that plate.
