Question about Rimage 2000i CDR 2 (52X), CD Duplicator External, CD-R Publisher Inkjet Printer, CD Designer, USB 1.... (CDR2000I) Burner

Open Question

Hi, we're having a problem with the Rimage 2000i picking up discs from the drive trays before putting them in the printer. This happens sporadically but quite frequently - after a disc has been duplicated, the drive tray opens, the loader arm descends and picks up the disc but the disc catches on the small bits of plastic around the edge of the disc bed. This pulls the DVD off of the loader arm. After a couple of cycles of the Rimage trying to pick up the disc, it gives up and sits there with the tray open which means we can then push the disc up onto the loader arm, click retry and off it goes as normal. The only option we have come up with so far is to try and remove these little bits of plastic as they don't seem to serve a purpose. Anyone have an alternative suggestion? Thanks, Guy

SOURCE: CD loading arm works sporadically

Hi guys,

We had exactly the same thing (for years!), in our case causing pick failures about once every twenty disks.

The total and complete solution seems to be to upgrade your 2000i to the very latest firmware. I've just completed 500 disks with just one pick failure. Plus, as a very surprising bonus, the machine seems to work considerably faster overall.

MAN, the grief it would've saved us if Rimage had fixed this sooner...

SOURCE: My Rimage 2000i will not begin production of cd

Hello B13Designs,

If you receive a "No Production Server Active" message when using QuickDisc, make sure that the Production Server status is set to Active, Processing orders in Rimage System Manager. Once the Production Server is set to this status, jobs can be processed.

1. Open Rimage System Manager.

2. Select Production Server. Production Server status information displays in the right panel, next to the Production Servericon.

3. If Production Server is paused or stopped, press the play button. Production Server starts.

If this does not fix your problem, feel free to give our support line a call @ 1-800-553-8312 (Option 2).

Thanks!

SOURCE: The Rimage 2000i recorder leaves streak marks on

Hello pwilford,

The most common cause for this issue is dirt and dust build up on the pivot tray. The pivot tray is the plastic piece the disc slides across when it is done printing. Clean this really well with some Formula 409 and it should "clean up" your issue.

SOURCE: The burner in our Rimage

Hello pwilford,

The most common failed parts in a system like this is the Hard Drives (not in your case) and the recorders. It is very possible that the recorders are going bad and need to be replaced. If you have a current contract or want to see if you can get one to fix the problem, please call our support line at 1-800-553-8312 (Option 2)

make sure that the dvd burner is getting enough power test all leads that are attached to the dvd burner including electical extensions and make sure they have a secure connection or just replace them there might be bad/faulty or the drivers may have been corrupted or you might have a virus run your antivrus program you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd burner then plug them back in this should activate the found new hardware wizard or you might have to uninstall then reinstall your DVD/CD or uninstall the driver then reinstall for this device Click start control panel administrive tools, computer management, device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question mark ? right click you will have options to update driver, roll back driver,or select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver or uninstall then reinstall if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer

If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer

Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.
hope this helps

I have a rimage prism plus why are my disc not clamping in on tray

Usually this is a bad printer pad, or your disc are not flat? Put the disc on a table, push near the edge of the disc and the opposite side should not lift up. In rare occasions the clamp pins will lower into the mounts. They can be raised with a flat screwdriver but be very carefull. If the pins extend above the CDs they will destroy the printhead ($575)

The Rimage 2000i recorder leaves streak marks on the underside of the disc where the information is recorded; thus when attempting to playback the DVD, the player cannot read it.

Rejected discs

I had the same problem, with rejections getting more and more frequent. In the end replacing the DVD burners fixed the problem. Apparently, the red lasers that burn the cd surface fade with use. They are still fine reading the disk at low power, but burning at high power becomes progressively more hit-and-miss.
