You may have a voltage problem, but it seems more like you have your power-save settings saved wrong. Check those. You may also want to check your device manager to make sure things are malfunctioning causing your shutdowns.

Why is my emachine t6528 slowed to a crawl?

Several Possible Reasons.
1.) Hard Drive related
Use the clean up function to get rid of all the cookies and other internet "trash" that has accumulated over time.
Then defragment the hard drive by going to My Computer > C Drive> (right mouse click) >Properties and Tools, select defragment
Then as before and use tools to check for errors (do not bother with a surface scan.. just yet)

2.) Dead and redundant programmes
If you have uninstalled or tried to uninstall any programmes, they may have left debris behind. Download REVO UNINSTALLER and use this to do a proper clean up (its free)

3.) Disc Space
Check the disc space remaining, if below 2 GB, you will be encountering issues with Windows Swap file (the bit of the hard drive windows likes to use to chuck data about in when it is executing commands). the bigger the swap file , the faster windows can do this.

4.) Hard drive damage
Download a programme called HDD Tune (free again), run it and check for any bad sectors and any RSC errors (shown in red or yellow highlights), if you encounter these, get your data of asap and buy a new HDD

5.) Virus:
If after all that, yiu still have problems, download a copy of DRWEB (yes.. that too is free), run it and even if reporting a clean HDD, run the C:/... path to make double sure

Speeding up a computer by Defragmenting Hard Drive

Is your computer running slow? Have you tried running anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-malware software to speed it up, but to no avail?

Perhaps cleaning up your hard drive could help. This tip will explain, in step by step instructions, how to defragment your hard drive.

To Defragment your hard drive:

1) Go to My Computer.
2) Right click on your C drive.
3) Click Properties.
4) Click the "Tools" tab at the top.
5) Click "Defragment now..." in the middle of the window.
6) In the window that pops up click "Defragment disk"
Defragmenting your disk physically moves files that are similar or
fragmented into an area that will more efficiently use your space.
5) The Disk Defragmentor will analyze your hard disk.
6) After analyzing it will move and defragment the information appropriately.
Disk Defragmentation is complete. You should see noticable improvements in your computer's speed and preformance.

My computer is not working it will not turn off and all my icons are gone and my mouse isn't working

?Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your motherboard to your hard drive make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?

heres a tip

then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to fix any bad sectors automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive then defragment your hard drive you have to keep a computer very clean & free of dust and give it regular maintanance
as for the mouse control panel mouse you should see 4 tabs buttons, pointers, pointer options and hardware under hardware you can troubleshoot or select properties under driver you can update driver, rollback driver or uninstall and under hardware you can troubleshoot

Running windows xp home addition. tried d fragging pop up said i needed to run chkdsk /f. tried that and it poped up for less than a second and went away. still cannot run defrag pgm

reboot into safe mode. You can kill the power to the PC without shutting down. When you turn it back on it will ask you a few boot option, select safe mode, then try the defrag.

My computer keeps freezing up it is something related to the mouse or keyboard which cause the freeze up the computer is an hp dc7600

It could be a number of things:

1. The registry - you could download something like CCleaner (freeware) and run this to fix it
2. A virus - I assume you have an anti virus/firewall installed on your PC? If not then try one of the free ones like AVG.
3. Hard drive needs defragging - From Start Menu go to All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmenter then from there run Analyze on the hard drive(s). It will then tell you whether it needs defragging or not. If so, then run it. This shouldn't take too long, but be patient!
4. Too much software on the PC. Advise on cleaning out and uninstalling anything you aren't using.

I would doubt it's anythiing to do with the mouse or keyboard. Are they wireless or wired?

Try the things I've suggested and let me know how you get on.

1: Download and run this:
2: Download and run AntiMalware and RogueRemover Free from here:
3: Defragment your drive.

Compression isn't such a good idea on a drive, it doesn't always de-compress correctly.

It may be worth testing your memory with MemTest:
