Question about Kyocera Copystar CS-5035 Copier

2 Answers

Repeat copies I am copying a large document front and back. I would like the copier to recall it and copy on demand. I registered the copy. It still did not repeat. The operation guide tells me that I need the Hard Disk installed before it will recall and print copies. Does the Hard Disk automatically come with the 5035? What exactly is it and where does it go? Does it cost extra?

Well usually there is hard drive comes with this machine, it is located in the back of the machine, it should be there only if some one remove it, but in order to call the job, first of all select the settings you want to use, then look at the panel there should be a button says program, register a program, you could rename it anythging you want, and Everytime you want to recall this job you have to go to programs and select that name. This is the way how it works.

On many of the high end digital copiers, an option can be installed so that you can scan documents to the copiers and recall them when you wnat them(document server) this does require a hard drive installation. this can be tricky so I would suggest contacting your servicing dealer.

Word 2003 document copied to flash drive stalls when editing

Sounds like a speed issue of your USB port (Perhaps a large file)
I suggest temporarily copying the file to your desktop (Or document folder) before editing, then when work complete, copy the latest copy back to the flash drive

Why is there a black line on all documents that i print?

The 2 most common causes for lines on this machine areA) Dirty **** Glass ( This would only affect copies not internal or computer printed jobs)B) Worn Drum Unit
First make a copy off the large glass and see if you get a line still, if not try running it through the document feeder. If the line is present through the feeder but not off the large glass. Clean the small strip of glass to the left of the large copy glass and this should resolve the line.
If lines show up regardless of how or what you print/copy open the left door of the machine and you should see in the lower area a handle with a blue sticker on it. By grabbing both the front and rear handle of the unit remove it by pulling straight out and lifting slightly. If this blue/green cylinder has any tan colored lines or marks on it then the drum is worn and needs replaced.

I was copying a fairly large document and at some point the document continued to scan but stopped printing. The memory light is on and the LCD print out reads "printing" but it is not printing.

hello there, Sorry but the question is a bit confusing. Did the document finish copying or it copied half way and stopped? Or you were copying and printing it at the same time?
If you were copying and printing at the same time then the problem is expected as the procedure for printing is considerably faster than the copy process. Simply turn of the entire system either by proper shutdown or by just cutting the source of power to the unit. And this time copy the document completely first before you try printing. This should come up without any hassles.
Hope this support has been helpful?

I am trying to copy a 2 sided document to a 2 sided copy (just like the original). It makes the front page on the front and back of the copy.

Have you heard of duplex printing it should be under your properties in your printers pop up screen
this will give you a two sided copy ( Not sure if you have a document feeder) or a scan bed try an be more specific

1. First make sure you are in Copy Mode
2. Load document
3. Enter the number of copies you want using the number pad
4. Press Duplex and "up arrow" or "down arrow" to select 1sided>2sided L
5. Press Start to copy the document.

FYI - if you get an Out of Memory message while making duplex copies, you might need to install extra memory.

Ricoh MP 2500 copied documents have a line across top of page when fed into document feeder when document is scanned the line appears on the scanned version as well. line does not appear on...

Clean the scanner strip glass. This is the thinner strip of glass that runs from front to back right next to the large glass. This glass is only used when scanning/copying using the document feeder. The line you are seeing is because something has become stuck to the glass so when the documents are fed over the strip of glass, the scanner reads the stationary spot of debris as a solid line. Clean the glass very well using a cloth and some glass cleaner. I have seen something get under the glass as well but this is very rare. Rest assured tho that the line is being caused by something on this strip of glass.

Brother MFC-7820N Printer--vertical lines

You need to clean the scanner glass. Also known as the strip glass. It is a 1 inch wide strip of glass that runs from the front to the back. Your documents pass over this glass when they are scanned. Some of the wax crayon probably smeared off onto the glass and now when you scan the scanner sees these marks as stationary and thus records them as solid lines. Just look into the scanner section where your documents are fed in or depending on model, some are just to the left of the large original glass.
Good Luck and thank you for using Fixya.

Black Streaks on copy

This means that teflon is wearing off of the Fuser Roller. It collects toner and then tracks it back on everu copy. It needs to be changed out by a trained tech.
The other thing that can cause this is a bad drum. Both about $200 I believe.

Double side to single copy w/o paper feeder

Try this.

Set the copy for duplex.

Put the drivers license on the glass.

press the start button.

Turn drivers license over.

Press the start button.

Should copy on both sides of sheet.

If you copier has a booklet setting on it in the duplex. Page the front and back of the drivers license will appear on the same side of the page as well.
