to start with there is only one mosquito that bites and that is the female
and she bites to get protein for the eggs that she carries
so nay warm blooded animal is fair game
so the bait will have to smell like a warm blooded animal and scientists have not got that right yet

it depends on the type of bats. microbats eats night bugs like mosquitoes while megabats eats ripe fruits from rainforest.

It can be due to low voltage on the battery, if so check the voltage or replace.
Also if the high voltage is low to kill the mosquito then it can be due to poor invertor action, the drive or the HT transformer.
Rather than replacing the transformer a new bat will be cheaper unless you can source the spares.

Battery voltage low? To test a battery you need to place a load on it to get the true reading of the power left in it. A straight test with a volt meter at no load is a misleading indication and will almost always give the battery rated voltage, even though the battery is almost dead.

You blew out the motherboard, cpu & ram may have survived, but I would guess that high of a voltage would have fried the mobo
