This has also happened to my Macbook Pro - nothing would work, so i basically pressed the power button until it closed down and waited a few minutes and turned it back on. The problem ( touch wood) did not come back again yet. Good luck!

    My MacBookPro 2009 gets locked up with black screen at every session. I believe that this probem has something to do with screen savers. I thought that I had solved the problem by changing the disk and screen times in EnergySaver in System Preferences, and this did lengthen the inactive time before screen saver kicked in, it did not solve the problem, If the MacBook Pro is inactive for X amount of time, the screen savers kicks in - the display goes black and nothing works. Interestly, when I am watching a movies on Netflix the screen will go black and nothing works, but I can still hear the movie soundtrack.

Apple don't allow anything to link to Macbook's via bluetooth. I can't even connect my iPhone 4 to my Macbook Pro unless I connect it with a USB cable.

Software disc is too small, macbook pro will not accept the disc

Hi, if the Macbook can't read the Mini discs, you can copy the contents of the Mini Disc to any USB Flash Drive by inserting the Mini Disc in any Desktop Computer's CD/DVD Drive. After copying the Mini disc contents to USB Flash Drive you can install in the Macbook pro. var geo_Partner = '843689b9-ba30-459d-9c4b-876924715b22'; var geo_isCG = true;

Sounds like you are missing a driver. Google the exact name of the mouse along with "Mac," and "Driver." Should be able to find what is needed that way. Be sure to check on the packaging that it isn't bizarrely incompatible with Macs, they can be difficult that way.

Make sure to run all available software updates as there's probably a firmware update for your keyboard you need to download.

If there isn't or the problem persists afterwards, you'll need to go into Apple Menu > System Preferences > Keyboard and Mouse > Keyboard and uncheck 'Use all F1, F2 etc. keys as standard function keys.'

Good luck!

Cursor and keys are unresponsive tryed 2 check if it was number lock witch its not

There has been a known issue with the first key (any key) of a Macbook Pro, not responding when typed and Apple appears to have addressed this with this software update for the Macbook and Macbook Pro:

Run the Macbook Pro Software Update v1.1 and the Macbook, Macbook Pro Keyboard Firmware update v 1.0 per this link:

Let me know if this helps.

If you have "good batteries" installed in the mouse and keyboard and you still have the problem- the best way is to remove the devices via the System Preference panel in your MacBook and then re-install them again. It is important that you remove them first as the system may revert to the previous connection. Good luck!
