Hello, I have a problem with the SIP registration on the ATA MP-202 B 2FXS For example, after uploading my configuration file, the line of my ATA will have the status "Not registred" on "Sip registration". I must press OK on "Signaling protocol" tab on "VoIP" field to register my line. I wish it would be done by itself. How I can set up this? For your information I'm editing directly the main conf file. Well it's a point but I have another problem : In my conf file i chosed to unencrypt the password. So i use this command : (auth_password(toto)) (i cant set the true characters in this log) on "line parameters" on "VoIP" field. I found this command in the tutorial for the last software version (the one i'm using) but it doesn't work, my CA doesn't recognize this password I checked the conf on MP202B interface and it shows me this : (auth_password(toto)) So I supose it understood that the password isn't encrypt but it not doing the hash by next. Just to clarify, the problem doesn't come from my CA because with the crypted password it works. But I'm doing an Excel in which the customer can type the password he wants and that transcribe it in the line (auth_password("the_password_typed")) i cant set the true characters in this log) Even i have no way to crypt the password typed, can you tell me why the syntax {"password"} doesn't work for un-encrypt it ? If your wireless VoIP router was provided by your VoIP provider they will usually lock this option on the router since they have pre-configured the voice settings(sip server, phone number, password, codecs) before they deliver the device to your location. if you have a working internet connection already you can give your VoIP proiver a call so that they can remotely check the voice settings on their end to verify if it's working or not.

How configure proxy on mp114 fxs


Download your INI config file and search for ISPROXYUSED under [SIP Params] block, if is not there add the line as follows:
ISPROXYUSED = 1
Then search for ProxyIp 0 under [ProxyIp] block and if there is no line add it as follows:
ProxyIp 0 = your.proxy.ip.address, -1, 0;

This will set a unique proxy IP address for all the SIP outgoing traffic of your MP, if you wish to use more than one SIP Proxy you may want to consider setting IP address on Routing menu.

How to do internet settings manually on nokia e71


BEFORE YOU BEGIN, please note the following:
On the Nokia E71 some of VoIP settings are hidden by default, and you will need Nokia's new VoIP SIP application.
This application can be used to configure VoIP settings on your Nokia. You can create new VoIP profiles and modify the existing ones, and create and modify VoIP parameters and NAT/Firewall traversal settings and that are normally not visible on the device UI, such as codec settings and SIP domain-specific NAT/FW settings. It is also possible to save all the VoIP profile settings to a text file. It also enables VoIP over WCDMA which means you can make VoIP call over 3G Internet connection.
Using your PC you can download free Nokia SIP VoIP application from here or you can check Nokia web sitefor latest version.
Extract and install SIS file using Nokia PC Suite software on your PC.
Once installation is complete you will be able to see "SIP VoIP Settings" application under Applications menu on your Nokia, which you will need in STEP 5 of this configuration guide for better voice quallity or enabling VoIP over 3G Internet connection.
Here you can find Nokia E71 SIP settings for voip setup and SIP client configuration guide with VoIPVoIP service.
STEP 1 Go to Tools / Settings / Connection / SIP settings. Create the following profile
Profile Name: VoIPVoIP Service
Profile: IETF Default
Access point: (your WLAN AP name)
Public user name: 5551231234@sip3.voipvoip.com ( Instead of 5551231234 account number example, use the account number assigned to you when signed up for VoIPVoIP service. When recorded your phone will show sip:5551231234@sip3.voipvoip.com )
Use Compression: No
Registration: "Always on "
Use Security: No

STEP 2 You do not need to enter Proxy Server settings
Proxy Server Address: none
Registrar Server:none
Realm: none
User Name: none

STEP 3 Enter the following for Registrar Server settings
Registrar Server: sip3.voipvoip.com (When recorded your phone will show sip:sip3.voipvoip.com)
Realm: voipvoip.com
User Name: 5551231234 (Instead of 5551231234 account number example, use the account number assigned to you when signed up for VoIPVoIP service. )
Password: Enter the password that you chose when you signed up for the service.
Transport Type: UDP
Port: 5060

STEP 4 Go to Tools / Settings / Connection / Internet Tel. Settings
Create a new profile for "voipvoip"(555123xxxx), name it "voipvoip"
Choose "voipvoip" as Preferred profile
STEP 5 For better voice quality or in order to be able to make VoIP calls over 3G internet connection you need to use Nokia SIP VoIP Application you installed.
Go to Applications on your phone and click on "SIP VoIP Settings" application. Choose VoIP services/VoIPVoIP (or the name of your VoIPVoIP account Internet profile.)
Click on "Profile Settings" and find "Allow VoIP over WCDMA" option and change it to "ON" This change allows VoIP over 3G connection on Nokia phones.
For better voice quality go to Codecs and delete all codecs except G729. There should be only G729 codec left under codecs setting
STEP 6 Reboot your phone. Once your phone is back on it will automatically register to VoIPVoIP.
Once it is registered you can start making calls.
Default call type: To switch between normal GSM calls or VOIP calls, navigate to Tools / Settings / Call / Default call type. Select Cellular to make normal calls to the phone number or Internet to use VoIP to call the number or address
Make Calls!
To dial any phone number that is part of the NANP (North American Numbering Plan), you must dial:
1 + Area Code + Phone number
To dial any phone number that is outside of the NANP (North American Numbering Plan), you must dial:
Country Code + City Code + Phone number
For example if you want to call Brazil (country code 55) phone number in Rio de Janeiro (city code 21) you must dial 5521 and phone number. + sign can also be used and number can be dialed as +5521xxxxxxx

Configure Linksys PhoneSet up your Linksys phone with a fixed IP address (e.g. 192.168.0.15) and subnet mask (e.g. 255.255.255.0).

Once the IP address is configured you can access phone webpage by its IP from web browser (e.g. http://192.168.0.15). Network SetupClick on "Admin Login", then select “System" tab. Sign Static IP, Gateway and NetMask.

Use the following data as an example
  • Static IP: Linksys phone IP (e.g. 192.168.0.17)
  • Netmask: 255.255.255.0

  • Subscriber Information:

    • User ID: extension number (e.g. 400)
    • If user authentication is set on at Brekeke SIP Server,
      type in the same information at Auth ID and Password as what you set at SIP Server side
      and Use Auth ID: Yes
  • click [Submit All Changes] button to restart the phone

My handy tone-486 box keeps flashing red every 3 seconds and I have no dial tone. My internet works and I have power and a working phone line to the box. Help.


Lifted this straight from the manual:

Button flashes every 4 seconds
(if SIP server is configured)
HT–486 fails to register

So basicly, that means your HandyTone 486 ATA fails to register with the SIP-server. That means you either have not recieved your IP-tele yet, or that your ISP have failed to register you.

I am unable to push the configuration files into polycom soundpoint ip 330 through tftpd


This means the phone's SIP application has been erased. You will need to download the SIP app and BootROM from the Polycom support page, host the files on a boot server, and then point the phone to this server from the server menu so the phone will reboot and download the files.

Polycom Soundpoint IP 501 - URL call is disabled


This in it's most basic description means that the phone is unable to register with the SIP server, most likely for lack of internet connectivity or a firewall blocking the packets.

If you've verified connectivity and opened the proper ports and the phone fails to initialize and still getting “URL Call Disabled” or all of the above parameters are correct, update the firmware for the router. This can usually be done within the router configuration. Then reboot in order, the cable modem or DSL, the router or switch, then the phone. This may solve the problem.

If still having the same issue, confirm in the router configuration for settings such as SIP proxy, gateway, or application layer or any configuration setting for SIP or VOIP. If any of these do exist, make sure they are turned off as these may only confuse or adversely affect many implementations.
