Hello, it could very well be a leak, if the air filter, evap coil, and airflow all seem ok then i would suspect a leak. Depending on where it leaks will depend on how much it will cost, if it is just a leaky schreader valve core then the core is just replaced and freon is added to the proper level. This would be somwere in the 100-150 dollar range. However, if it is a leak somwhere in tne lineset or in the evap coil then the leak must be repiared, a vacuum pulled on tje unit, nitrogen added, and finnally freon chraged back in, this would be closer to 400 dollar range. I hope this helps

Can you recharge the freeon in a frigidaire upright freezer? It's not as cold as it should be!

I the freon has leaked out, this means there is a leak in your sealed system. Unless you can find the freon leak, charging the system will do no good. It will leak out again. There are many things to cause a freezer to not freeze. Is this a "Frostless" Freezer or a "Manual Defrost"?

A/C not producing cold air

First make sure you pressed the button for the air to circulat internally and the blue air conditioning button is drepressed. If you still don't get cold air, open the hood and see if your ac belt is present. If it is there, make sure it is not slipping. You can mark it with a red permanent marker when the engine is off. If it is spinning make sure the ac clutch is enganging. With your engine on see if the ac clutch on the side of the ac compressor move a little showing it is engaged. It will also load your eninge and there will be a slight difference in speed which you can hear. If all of these are working you most likely need a freeon charge. However, first you will need to check that there is not a leak withing the ac system. This is done by mechanics using a dye. Once the leak is located, it is repaired and freeon is charged into the system. Thanks for using Fixya.

No cold air coming out of air condition just hot air

Check you ac belt under the hood is not slipping. Check that your ac clutch is engaging.
Check your freeon level.
It is possible you may have a freeon leak. The mechanics will use a dye to determine if you have a leak and where it is. The leak will be repaired and new freeon put in.

Your Freeon might be leaking or empty. You can buy replacement containers at any local auto shop, should this be the case. And remember, never try to refill a freeon container yourself.
