How to Recover Data on Macintosh The Right Way

As a Mac user whatever you lost files from: accidental removal, formatting, system crash, virus attack, etc., DO not panic! Now, it is at least possible to recover your Mac files as long as you follow the right steps.

It is said that about 80% Mac users are used to deleting a file or emptied the Trash bin by mistake on their Mac computer or perform format option. Do you really think those files are really gone forever or are you looking urgently for a solution to recover and restore those important files, photos or documents that you need and which you've just deleted? So what should be the right things to do when you accidentally met this kind of problem?

Possible to Recover files from Mac machine in such case? YES, definitely. As matter of fact, when emptied Trash Mac, used Shift-Delete to get rid of the file, deleted it from within an application or used some other method of removing it that bypassed the bin, then it is still almost certainly recoverable. The file is still not really deleted. Although the space occupied by the file becomes available for re-use by other files, it doesn't get re-used straight away so the data it contained will stay on your hard drive for some time to come and may be recovered using software that knows what to look for.

First things first - If you have Mac machines purchased after November 2007 are installed with the Leopard operating system. One of the most important utilities of the Leopard is Time Machine. This complete backup tool can backup almost anything and everything on a Mac every hour with its unique features. Once you deleted or lost your critical files, just enter your Time Machine browser, you'll easily do Mac data rescue from Time Machine backup. If time machine has failed or you forget to set the backup, then you may need to use the third party Mac data recovery software to rescue data.

Data Recovery for Mac is a high-end Mac data recovery solution that recovers deleted or lost files (documents, videos, photos, archives, email and more) from HFS, HFS+, and NTFS, FAT file system volumes on Mac machines based on OS X. It can scan and find lost partitions, boot sectors and other file system components within internal Mac hard drive or external device. Incorporated with 3 Recovery Options like 'Deleted Recovery', 'Raw Recovery' and 'Lost Partition Recovery', the Mac file recovery software is a powerful yet comprehensive solution to recover all your Mac data in just a few mouth clicks.

But you should remember: before your deleted files are recovered from Mac, DO NOT attempt to put more files to the partition as this will decrease chances of Mac trash recovery for there might be a chance for your files to be overwritten. Overwritten, it is impossible to do mac data recovery. You should be aware of that.

How do I change permissions on a file. I can't

There are several reasons why Windows might not allow you to delete a file:
 • The file might be in use in which case you can't delete the file until the program using it gives it up.
 • The file might be marked read-only.
 • The file name might be so long that Windows can't handle it. File names with more than 260 characters in them are often difficult to delete.
There are also several reasons why Windows might not allow you to change the name of a file; particularly its extension. All above apply here; as well as...
 • Your system may not be showing file extensions by default.
Try to eliminate as much option as you can!

Can not delete it is used by another program close any program that might be using the file an try again

Reboot the computer and as soon as you get back into windows try deleting the file again. If you get the same message then go into MSCONFIG (type it in the search box) into the startup tab. Disable all the programs and reboot the computer. Try deleting the file again. If you still can't delete it then it may be a system file your trying to delete and those I wouldn't mess with because it could screw up windows.
Last thing to try would be to boot up your computer in safe mode. Since it doesn't load much into memory you should be able to delete your file that way for sure.

How to delete songs from mp3

To delete MP3 files, you must first find the location of the actual files. To do this, you can use your operating system's search feature to find the specific file, or, alternatively, from your music player, you might be able to reveal the location of the file by choosing to view more info.
Deleting should be as simple as dragging your file to the trash.

Your machine is old, there's not much you can do. Remove any programs you don't use, stop programs from starting-up with the OS, and increase your RAM: http://www.crucial.com/index.aspx

My Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic is suspectedly infected by a virus which hid all data on memory card except SMADxxx and AUTORUN which is locked by SMAD. Therefore its galery is empty and some other functions...

Best solution is to reformat the memory card and make sure that the pc you are going to use is also not infected by a virus. After that, it would also help to restore the phone to factory settings. The only downside is, all your files will be deleted but you can always make a back up before resetting the settings.

NOKIA 5130 XPRESSMUSIC is hanging frerquently.

Make sure that the files you have loaded is free from any corrupt/invalid files . Connect you phone using the provided interface cord and check these files, If you suspect fault then format off the memory and then reload them. If the fault clears make sure you do not load such files and also use up the total memory. Also check for invalid files in your message box, delete them. I hope this will solve the issue or else there could be prroblems in the phone software which will need to be uploaded from a reputed Nokia service provider. Good day
