Question about Garden

1 Answer

I have an iwata hp-c plus. Air is continually coming out the nozzle of the gun even when I do not have the trigger pulled back. I have pulled the gun apart, cleaned it well and put it back together, buts its still doing the same thing. It actually is in great working order. Its just constantly blowing air. Can you help me?

Since the engine is running it needs to have an exhaust port, If it is in fine working order I would assume that it is simply the exhaust from the chainsaw. even with the trigger not pulled you are still idling causing exhaust build up. I would need more information to be able to delve deeper.

Trigger pull is not as far as older model

some models have less trigger movement than others.
at the back of the gun you have two adjusting knobs the lower one controls the trigger movement, which controls the fluid flow from the nozzle.

No pressure

It is probably air locked....Here's what you need to do. Connect the garden hose, and HP hose, but not the gun. Turn on the water, and let it run while you make sure that there are no high points in the garden hose that can trap air....Work the hose so that any air is displaced through the pressure washer. Continue in this manner through the HP hose. Shut off the water and connect the gun. Turn the hose back on, and operate the gun for several minutes, pulling the trigger and releasing. This alternately allows the water pressure to build up on house pressure and then to depressure, pulling residual air from the system. Release the trigger, and start the machine. Usually, this is enough to get full washing pressure. If it is very difficult to start, you can hold the trigger down on the gun and pull the start cord at the same time. Holding the trigger down acts as an unloader, making the starting easier.

Iwata w400 air leak behind trigger problem

Have you traced the exact spot of the leak?
I will assume you have not. the reason it's important is because if there is a crack in the o-ring seat there is nothing you can do. So trace the leak. Try a small amount of auto air conditioner leak detector or something similar even ink from an ink pen will work. Place it in the air inlet, hook up your air line and trigger your gun for a 10 to 15 seconds. disassemble your trigger and see if you can locate the offending spot. Though this method has worked for me in the past, it's not something I would normally recommend. However the gun you have is to expensive to just write off.
The alternative is to contact Iwata and seek help.
Good luck.
