Re: Laptop will not turn on
Hi, this indicates to me that you have a low battery and the power pack is not functioning resulting in not enough power to boot the computer up. A replacement power pack will fix your problem. Regards mistyman

Try holding down the power button instead of just pushing it. I had this problem with my HP dv7 and holding the power button down for around 5 seconds worked for me. Also make sure that its plugged in to a power source.
it could be your ac converter in your laptop.. best bet would be to check the memory, take both the batteries out and try restart it without batteries.. if non of this works i believe it might be your ac con...
Typically that flashing light means low battery. Which makes sense, as you probably have an issue with the AC Adapter that you plug into the computer to charge it, or the DC Jack that this adapter plugs into on the laptop. Either of these things will cause your computer to not charge the battery, and if there isn't enough power it won't turn on.
Have you tried attaching an external monitor when the LCD screen is disconnected from the motherboard? this connector is located under the keyboard strip – a piece of plastic just above the keyboard. If it works, this way, then the video cable isn’t seated properly in the connector on the back of the screen.Plugging the video cable back in should fix the problem. I don’t know how comfortable you are with taking apart laptops but I think that this information could be useful for you. To take out of hibernation, press the power button for less than 1 second.
Then go into the control panel and disable hibernation as described below.
Disable the your mouse's "ability to wake up computer" in device manager.
Use keyboard to wake up your computer.
Click Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Power Options > Hibernate tab. Then clear the Enable Hibernationcheck box. If this doesn't resolve the issue,Please post back. Please rate this a fixya.
The three flashing lights indicate the battery is dead. Since it still wont power up with the cable plugged in I'd say the port has gone. Try wiggling the adapter about in the port to see if it begins to charge. If not then you would need to take it to a laptop repair centre to get a new dc port soldered on or buy a docking station.
