This should be easy enough to find with a web search on your part number... but it is very likely that almost any floppy drive will work, as long as it mounts in your location.

Can a fried Yamaha Tyros 2 be repaired

It is very possible that it has a blown fuse or blown power supply section. If that is the case. Yes it can be repaired by replacing the internal step down power supply or fuse. A qualified technician should look at this and do this work for safety sake. I do not recommend doing it yourself.

Sy85 floppy drive

It could possibly be the drive belt on your disc drive. The original drive used on the keyboard was not direct drive, over a period of time the belt wears and either slips or perishes. You might think it is still working as the motor spins and sounds as if there is life.

Take the drive out and look under the drive to see if belt is there if not replace.

Belt should go around black disc and brass capstan.

Tyros 1 cutting out screen goes grey and restarts

Guessing that some people think a Tyros 1 is a PC or something.

If the Tyros goes blank screen and all the lights go out then it is most likely the REG board (regulators) that provide the 5v and 3.3v. This overheats and the devices shutdown. Quite often this is cured with a restart on more serious cases the regulators need replacing. As they are cheep it is best to replace all while the unit is apart. I am just about to do this repair on a Tyros I purchased the other day.

When I turn my Gateway Profie 3 computer on, it will not boot up and displays the message: "WIndows could not start because the following files is missing or corrupt Windows^Root^\System32\ hal.dll....

Hi There,

Sounds like you're running XP bercause the hal.dll issue is almost always an XP issue. It's not the easiest thing to fix. Most often you need access to a floppy drive and floppy disc or you have to create a bootable CD that fools the computer into thinking it's a floppy with the replacement installer for hal.dll.

I recommend you read the info at the site below and decide whether to attempt the fix yourself or get assistance at your location.

Model: PSR 620. The floppy drive is not working and needs to be replaced. Original floppy drive uses DS DD 720kb floppies. Where can I get a replacement drive? How much does it cost?

The replacement cost of these is prohibitive often greater than $200.

You should try to clean the heads in your drive and see if you can spot a mechanical problem. Clean the heads carefully with 91% isoprophyl alcohol and Tube Gauze on a tongue depressor. Be very careful.

When I load a floppy with music styles into the

Not sure about your particular keyboard, but on the Yamaha Tyros the style will NOT start rhythm until you select start AND hit a chord.

The style doesn't know what chord to start with until you trigger it.

SOMETIMES the style has to be moved to a user space...

One has to read and then DECYPHIER how to work these synths... Spend a little time with the user manual, as hard as it is to understand.

How do i edit and store midi files on my tyros keyboard.

Storing is easy... editing is NOT so easy and is better done using a PC with an editing program.

Not knowing which model Tyros you have, either bring the MIDI files on floppy disk or USB stick.

Select the floppy or the USB source on the Tyros while in the song mode. Find and COPY a file or files, then move back to the place you want to store them like hardrive or user space and PASTE. You can create folders before each to keep the things seperate.

Disc error on Husqvarna viking sewing machine floppy

sounds like a bad disk or the floppy drive is going out. The floppy drive is very expensive to replace. It may be that a local dealer has a used floppy drive which they will install at 1/2 price. If you determine that the floppy drive is at fault, take it to authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer for repair. This is not something that can be done by the owner. Check Husqvarna Viking website for dealer closest too you. If you are the original owner and you purchased it less than 5 years ago, the drive may be under warranty and you would only pay for the labor.

Extracting old files from computer discs.

I am not sure if I understand, but in the second statement you said that you have another large computer with large and small disc drives. Can you still open up the 5.25 inch foppy discs, and save it to that computer, and later extract it off using 3 inch floppy?
