Question about Roxio VideoWave Movie Creator

Open Question

When using VideoWave Movie Creator to render a movie, the system just stops. It does not freeze the computer, the program just stops. The only fix I have found so far is to cancel the rendering and back out to the storyline editor and try again. I am using old versions of everything (Windows 2000 Pro SP4, VideoWave Movie Creator 1.5.545). I tried to make sure the drivers are right, but the versions are not supported any longer. Any hope?

SOURCE: roxio creator 2009 burning issues

Here's a few things you can try:

1.) Download Service Pack 3 for Creator 2009. This updates the software and is recommended.

http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/c2009/software_updates.html

2.) Update your CD/DVD burner drives. This can be done by going to the manufacturers website and checking for updates. (Ex: If you purchased your computer from Dell and it came with a built in burner, you'd check Dell.com for updates.)

3.) Update the PX Engine. This is Roxio software that communicates with the CD/DVD burner drives.

Can I use the Digital Blue Movie Creator 2.0 on Windows 7

The drivers for the Digital Blue Movie Creator 2.0 are only available for Windows ME/XP/2000
But as Windows 7 is backward compatible with most software, programs and drivers then there should be no problem.

Load up the driver in Windows 7, install the software and run. If there is a problem Windows 7 comes with a troubleshooter.

For the troubleshooter

Right click on program icon. On drop down menu select Troubleshoot compatability. Answer the questions that are asked such as ' which version of windows did this program work on before ?'
Start the program after troubleshooter applies new settings.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using Fixya.

While its not possible to tell exactly why your program is closing, you should be able to use another movie application, such as Microsoft Windows Live Movie Maker or Videopad, which help you complete your assignment on time. You can download Videopad at:

I am using Roxio 7.5 to create a System Back-up. It is asking me to insert a Content CD?

In-pack is a 64-page manual, plus two CDs. One is the installation disc for VideoWave Movie Creator (V1.5.545.0); the other is the contents CD and carries video (AVI), audio (WAV) and still image (JPEG) files for use as templates within StoryBuilder. The wizard-based installation promps for the content CD to be loaded. Roxio recommends using the Full or Typical installation options, which copy the contents CD to hard disk.

Here You can find a free mpeg converter for any type of files. What kind of file do You have? If it's .avi, probably Roxio creator cannot burn it because it is too big, and if You nave the menus on Your future DVD, I'm sure the reason is the size. On Mac it's easy. With toast titanium, You can select an option fit-to-DVD, and the video fits on standard DVD. Probably, the default compression options in Roxio aren´t sufficient. Try to search in advanced options compression level, or, You can convert with the MPEG Streamclip the video to mpeg video, by selecting a different level of compression, and then You can offer this file to Roxio. Try this. If it not helps, drop me a message.
