Apllied park brake and a spring broke, need manual, part number, schematic to reinstall

Manual can be gotten in electronic form from sears at the searspartsdirect.com website (linked at end of post), where you can download manuals for lots of appliances, tools, etc. Flip up your tractor's seat and look for the model number sticker, should be near the battery if battery is under seat. You will need the model number (model, not serial) to find the right publications. When new, the tractor probably came with an owners manual and a parts manual.

Alternative: get your model number, google it and the term "parts manual," and you will probably get right to the info at several websites.

Amazon is a possible parts source, with some decent vendors and prices; I've ordered several repair parts for my 2009 YTS 3000, which is technically a model 917.289210. That should be the pattern for Craftsman model number: three digit number probably starting with nine, decimal point, six digit number. Note that my owners manual has a typo and omits last character of model number. Watch out for such printing errors; you might be actually looking at the correct publication but it's mismarked. Be sure to save a PDF copy of the manuals so you'll have them later. Craftsman Riding Mower Tractor Parts Repair Parts Sears PartsDirect

As for assembly, the parts views will be some help. Once you get the new part it might be pretty obvious. For example, there might only be one hole or hook relativley close by that other end of spring could attach to. In general, all the "parking brake" does is hold the foot brake pedal down in the applied postion, not much different from jamming pedal with a stick (no I do not recommend this method). Unfortunately, due to safety interlocks, you need the parking brake to work if you want to leave the seat while tractor is running, as you've probably discovered.

Spring mechanism is broke. As a result, door is quite heavy and falls open quite easy.

If you need to replace the spring mechanism, go to Sears's website and access the parts direct section. Here you can enter your make and model. It will show you a cutsheet with part names and numbers. Order the parts you need from there.

Fuel gauge reading half with full tank on 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage

It is a fuel gauge sensor also known as the level sensor, There is a level sensor that has a boot spring attached to it that is probraly jammed, or just simply damaged. This will need to be replaced, you can located this at your fuel pump, which in normal case is underneath you rear seat in which side is your fuel door is located. Once you located the opening of the fuel pump passage then there is normally 6-8 small bolt that is screwed to hold your fuel pump to the fuel tank and some cable harness. Theses will need to be taken off in order for you to take your fuel pump. In my best advice, you minus well replace your whole fuel pump system to save time and complication when installing

I opened teh door and thought i felt something hit

Murray, It sounds like one of the door springs has broken and that is why the door seems heavier and opens with much more force.

You'll want to at least make a temporary repair and order a new replacment spring to get your dishwasher working like it should and so it's safer too.

You can check to see which side of the dishwasher the spring broke, by locking the door shut (with the cycle set to "off"). Now remove the lower access panel, beneath the main dishwasher door. There are a couple of screws near the top corner edges of the panel, just under the main door and a couple more on the toe kick near the very bottom.

Once you've got the lower access panel off, you'll be able to see the two door springs, (there is one on each side). Of course, the broken one might have fallen off the spring notches, so look around and you should see it.

With the door still closed and locked, you can remove the broken spring and see if it's just the hook end that broke. If that's the case, you can reform the end hook using a couple pairs of pliers and reinstall the spring on the door and frame mounting points. You'll have to use pliers to stretch the spring slightly to get it on the other mounting point, once you've got one end on a mounting point. If the spring broke off more than 3 coils, you'll need to replace it with a new one.

You can find a replacement by using searspartsdirect.com and putting in your model number to locate a line drawing and parts listing for your particular model. You can also order a new one from them, or use the part number to get one locally, if you wish.

Once you've got the spring back on the door and cabinet mount points, you can unlock the door and gently lower the door to see if everything is working properly. Once you've opened and closed the door several times, you can reinstall the lower access panel and you're back in business.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
