Hi samhs,

This is definitely a driver issue that needs update. All you have to do is open Device Manager.
Right click the drive icon below the DVD/CD ROM drive which shows you a yellow triangle, select "Update driver". Once update is done, restart your computer.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Hi boyzrock 289
Try this solution to your problem.
Go to Device Manager
To get to Device Manager you will:
Right click on My Computer>Properties>click the Hardware Tab>Device Manager.
After you are in Device Manager look for your MP3 player or Unit.
Here you should see no "Yellow" exclamation points.
If you do they they are telling you that you have a device conflict.
If you currnetly have your unit plugged in, you may notice the "unknown device" which would be your Player or Unit.
If you unit has an exclamation point by it, then you will need to click on it and delete it.
After you remove all devices with conflicts then click on refresh and search again for your MP3 player/Device.
The computer should install your device this time and solve your problem with connection of the MP3 player/Device.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up.

You need to check if the CD/DVD rom driver is installed. You can check that by going into the Device Manager (Right-click My Computer, click Manage, and then choose Device Manager). You need to check if there is a device marked as unknown and it should have an exclamation point and a yellow background.

Lacie usb 250gb Not recognized or found by PC

Right click on My Computer > Manage > Device Manager. Do you see any yellow exclamation points? If so, you have conflicting devices. I'd need some feedback at this point to continue to help you, but if you double-click on the yellow mark, a window will popup. See if you can troubleshoot or rollback some drivers.
