Are the > settings wrong? does it have something to do with changing > from an xp to a windows 7 computer? any help is appreciated. > I cant seem to find any thing online that could explain this > or in the manual. When i moved into the new computer (xp to windows 7) i needed to get a new encoder it was "fastencc" it is now called "lame". I dont know if this is a software problem or a hardware problem. The people /makers of the product seem to be baffled at this as well. One other irritating problem that i have had is the reception from tiime to time drops in and out leaving gaps of a few seconds throughout the recording often leaving it worthless.

Remove all USB attached devices like drives. You may need to roll back system with System Restore. Under Safe Mode (press F8 during boot and choose Safe Mode). Win 7 - Start > Search type System Restore. XP - Is Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Restore. Now choose a date prior to problem. You may have to try a few dates. Uninstall last program(s) that was installed, again in safe mode. To eliminate possible bad RAM. Unplug PC, open case, and remove all RAM. Test one DIMM at time, one slot at a time. Re-install Windows. Clean install works best, but all data will be lost. Lastly you may have other hardware problems. If it does another blue screen after reloading windows, especially with a clean install.

You can run software that says it is designed for WindowsCE. This is not the same as full Windows (xp, vista, 7) so normal windows programs will not work.

Certainly, any files that you write using Windows XP will be able to be read with Windows 7.

I'm not familiar with the CEEDO program -- did the author update it for Windows 7 ?

I need to uninstall Micosoft Intrnet Explorer so that I can reinstall IE7. I keep getting s message that a more recent one is on my computer but I cannot find it to ubinstall it.

Click "Start" then "Control Panel" --> "Add/Remove Programs" --> "Add/Remove Windows Components" --> click the "Internet Explorer" and uncheck it, click "Next" wait for few seconds until the uninstallation is finished and click "finish" when done. Close the windows and now open, "My Computer" -- > "C:" drive --> then "Program Files" and locate "Internet Explorer" and delete the folder. Now restart your computer and repeat the same procedure from "Start" then "Control Panel" --> "Add/Remove Programs" --> "Add/Remove Windows Components" --> click the "Internet Explorer" and uncheck it, click "Next" wait for few seconds until the uninstallation is finished and click "finish" when done. That should work. Even if you don't repeat the steps, by default, windows Xp has the Internet Explorer 7 with it.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Vertex programming problems via USB

This probably doesn't help, but sometimes a much slower (older) computer will work where a faster (newer) will not. The Motorola's are notorious for this. Others, too. USB is USB, a standard--so that's not your issue.
