SOURCE: setting up my mfc-440cn brother

Im guessing the "Brother" is a printer....the Printer should connect using a usb port, Unless its an ethernet port for the printer then you will need a router to connect both printer and computer. Are you using a High Speed connection or a dial up connection?

SOURCE: wireless connection to xbox

I understand this can be a little confusing , especially if you have not done it before!! I can explain to you the steps , but it is a little tricky and I don''t want to completely confuse you!

With that being said , take a look at the article I posted below. It is directly from Microsoft and is a step by step guide for this , including pictures to make it easier. When you open that link scroll about half-way down to the section that says :

"How to connect an Xbox 360 to your wireless network"

There you will see all the info you need , along with the pictures I mentioned to make it easier for you!

I hope this helps , and if you need further help feel free to leave a comment with the issue and we can clear it up...

unplug all phones in your house and then take turns to plug one phone only into phone socket on wall at a time. See if fault still occurs.with each phone. This is known as an isolation test and your phone provider will ask you to do this if you report a fault with your line. If the fault still is occurring it could be caused by a bad connection at the terminal connections. Ask your provider to do a line test for high resistance. You could be disconnected by the phone provider for non payment of your bill .

Connect brother mfc-j430w printer

CLICK HERE for the support page on the brother website, for that model printer. If the WiFi network you see in the printer network setup, shows a lock, you merely need to continue the network setup and enter the WiFi password (passphrase), for it to connect. You do need the correct password to succeed. Also you can only use one network connection type, at a time. Either WiFi or network cable, not both. Dosconnect any usb cables to be sure.

Connection to phone line

do you see two phone jacks in your modem? you probably already know w/c jack is for the incoming (the one where you connect the phone line when you try to surf). so all you need is to get a spare telephone line/cord. connect that to the other jack in your modem and from there to your phone.

direct route from phone line to modem to phone unit. no extensions and no splitters.

Adsl wont stay on ,quick set up ,says cant find modem

Either the router is not connected properly to the modem, or the modem is not set up properly. First, unplug the router from the modem and disconnect power to both of them. Make sure the modem is connected to its data source, in this case the telephone line. Make sure the company has authorized the modem and make sure it's connected to the phone socket they specified, if they did. You should plug a CAT-5(ethernet) cable between the LAN port on the modem and the WAN port on the router. Now power on the modem. Wait until the modem's lights indicate it has a connection. If the modem doesn't indicate a connection, call your ISP. It will probably be as simple as them sending a refresh signal to it. After the modem finds a connection, power on the router. Your internet service should now be working. If not, try plugging the computer's network cable directly into the LAN port on the modem. If that computer then has internet, your problem is with the router. If the computer still doesn't have internet, then the problem is either with the settings on the computer or there's still a problem with the modem/ISP

We have just signed up for cable TV/high speed internet/cable telephone. The modem provided is an "Arris" version 1.5. The cable tech said I could connect my Belkin G router so that more than one computer...

Plug the ethernet net cord into the arris ethernet port. plug the other end into the router where it says "internet"

Plug a ethernet cable from one of the router ports to the computer.

First start up the arris modem, then power up the router, then start the computer.

Send and receive fax

Faxes cannot be received but they can be sent Review the information below to determine why faxes are not being received.
  1. Phone company services: Do you have any of the following telephone line services from your telephone company: Voice Mail, Privacy Block, Security Screen, Anonymous Call Rejection, and Privacy Manager. These phone services are meant to prevent unwanted calls, but they will also stop faxes. Contact your telephone company for their recommended solution for receiving faxes on the same line with these services.
  2. If you wish to receive faxes automatically, verify that automatic answering is enabled on models that have an Auto Answer button, or that the Rings to Answer setting is set to a number equal to or larger than one for models that do not have an Auto Answer button. On models with an Answer Mode setting, it should be set to Fax, FaxTel, or AnswerMachine depending on your setup.
  3. If an answering machine is connected to the same line, fax reception problems can occur. These problems may be corrected by changing settings or phone line connections
  4. If you have a PBX phone system, or an ISDN or DSL modem connected to the line, there may be some phone line configuration problems. Fax machines are analog devices and cannot be used on a digital phone service such as those used in many businesses (PBX systems). Install an analog phone line for a fax machine.
Faxes cannot be sent but can be received Follow the steps below to correct the problem.
  1. Verify that you are dialing the number correctly. You must dial all of the numbers required to make a phone call from the same line. This includes numbers that must be dialed to access an outside line or to access long distance services.
  2. If you have been using a speed dial or are faxing from the computer, print the page to be faxed and manually dial the number from the front panel of the fax. If the fax can be sent when dialed from the front panel, recreate the speed dial setting and insert some pauses.
  3. If you are trying to fax from the computer with a model that supports PC faxing and the fax does not try to dial when you send a fax job, test the communications to the all-in-one by clicking Status in the Director, or by trying to print to the all-in-one.
    • If this is reported as disconnected or printing fails, verify that the communications cable from the computer to the all-in-one is connected correctly and restart the computer.
    • If communications still cannot be established, troubleshoot the communications
  4. Faxes fail intermittently or with only one fax number
    • If static is present on the phone line, fax communication may fail. Have the phone line checked and serviced by the telephone company (or have the other party check their line). Phone line quality is the most common reason for intermittent fax failures. Some older locations and buildings have inadequate phone system wiring.
    • If you are trying to send a color fax and it fails, try sending the same machine a black and white fax. Normally the fax will detect that the other fax is not color capable and will offer you the option to send the fax as black and white but this might not always be the case. Do not send color faxes unless you know the other fax machine is capable of receiving color faxes.
    • Check the phone cable from the wall jack to the fax. It should not be coiled or longer than necessary. Coiling the cable can cause cross talk or echo on the line. Signal strength and quality can be lost with long cables.
    • Make sure the phone cable routing (and any cables not plugged into the same jack but sharing the same line) is not near any electrical appliances (electric motors, fans, kitchen appliances, or televisions). Many of these devices do not have sufficient electrical shielding and can induce electro-magnetic force (EMF) onto the phone line. Computers are usually shielded sufficiently and do not cause this problem.
    • Do not use a call-waiting service on the same line connected to the fax machine. The click sound caused by an incoming call can cause the fax to fail.
    • You can block certain faxes on some models. Verify that the telephone number of the sending fax is not blocked in the faxing software. This is usually located in the Fax History.
