There is a bad smell comming from our lg fridge the fridge has a bottom freezer the smell seems to come from the fridge area we have only had the fridge since March 2011. the smell has only started in the last week. it smells a bit like bad milk but that is not the problem I removed everything from the fridge and wiped it down with vinigar and water then cleaned it again with soap and water I have put baking soda blocks used for the fridge and so far the problem is still their please let us know whar the problem might be

There is a service bulletin related to this, dealing with deformation / melting of the lamp cover. The fix is to change the lamp wire harness to one that now has a thermal protector incorporated in it (part number 6621JK2003B) along with changing the main PCB board to one that uses a larger relay for this function (part number 6871JB1423N).

In case you want or need to replace the following,
The lamp cover is part number 3110JA1096A and the lamp holder is part number 3034JA1009A

I tried to cut and paste a few photo's, but was unsuccessful. Sorry. Make sure to test that fans and light switches work after part changes.

really,it just four week old and suddenly no freeze at bottom then going upward until it gone! well! try to adjust the thermostat setting to the coldest and switch on again observed,or have attach a screw driver on compressor motor let your ear hear the vibration if motor is running,if you hear running let have it for 15 minutes and feel the evaporator if some cold emerged.
if noting happen or compressor motor is not running call your
service center on your service manual the location and contact number is there,have your warranty paper to claim its just a new one.have a nice day,don't forget to rate me,thank's a lot

Sorry that has happened to you. The only way to get the smell out is to clean all of the inside sections of the freezer and fresh food section with a good cleaner and warm water. Unplug and remove the rear panel in back of freezer and wash the evaporator coils with warm water and Clorox solution. When done in that way the solution goes down the defrost condensate drain to the pan below the refrigerator and it also disinfects the smell that has accumulated from inside the refrigerator and freezer and ends up being returned into the air inside your home from the condensate collection pan that uses the heat from compressor and fan to replace the moisture inside you home. I know this might sound weird but there might be a dead rodent or other small animal under the fridge or squeezed in between small parts. This happened to us but it was not the fridge; it was the air-conditioning unit. If this has happened in your case, the smell will be really bad for a while and eventually go away when the animal has fully decayed.
