It sounds like your pool cleaner might have worn shoes or wings. Both could cause a problem with the motion, but not the suction power of the cleaner. Both have wear indicators on the side that appear as a different texture. When the texture difference is no longer apparent, you will need to replace. Both are easy and fairly inexpensive to replace. I bet that is going to be your problem. Here is a copy of the users manual for this cleaner in case you need help changing them.

I have a Hayward in ground pool pump with an AO Smith model# k48m2n111. It's 10 years old now but yesterday it stopped working and just whines real loud when i start it . Could it be a quick fix? Is it...

Hayward pumps are poor quality. You're lucky to get ten years. In 4 years I've needed the motor replaced twice and the pump repaired. The motor is starting to whine again. Just a matter of time before it fails. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Hayward.

My 2hp hayward super pump is just out of warranty and has begun leaking. It also has a high pitched whine which comes and goes. Does that mean waters gotten into the bearing and if so can I replace it?...

Yes, water may have entered into the motor, mainly into the front motor bearing, where it washed away the lubrication. This will only make the noise louder and will need to replace the bearing. otherwise it will eventually seize and no longer work.

Otherwise chemistry fine?
whenever someone is vague about chemistry residual readings, but provide a pH reading, I'm always Leary.
  • bring pH up to 7.6
  • Balance Total Alkalinity at 120 ppm
  • Bring Hardness to at least 200 ppm
  • Keep Chlorine level at least 3.0 All the time
  • ISO Cyaniric acid / stabilizer at least 30, not exceeding 80 ppm
  • Use a Natural Clarifier weekly - rate = 1 ozs per 5000 gallons
  • Use Algaecide (not from Kmart!) weekly
  • Clean filter whenever pressure approaches 8# over starting
  • Filter for at least 1 turnover per day. This is usually 8 hours in most regions
Follow this, should be good

Not filtering, back wash and waste won't work

Try consulting the owners manual for these pool filters. They have a whole section about the different settings on your multi-port valves. It also has a troubleshooting section.
