Hi

If you are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound.

If it seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve. Now, check if dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after the cycle is complete. Try cleaning the spray arm with a soft brush. The water temperature plays a major role in cleaning of dishes. The temp should be between 125 and 150 F for dishwasher to clean the dishes.

Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Whirlpool dishwasher model series 980 doesn't clean dishes as good as it used to

Phosphate was outlawed as an ingredient in dishwasher detergent. If you live in a region with hard water, detergents don't work very well anymore. See the US map of water hardness.

Shortest cycle takes 3 hours

Maybe its build up inside the dishwasher. A solution to this is to run one of the avaliable products for cleaning out the lime/scale/crud inside. Just because it looks clean doesn't mean that the hidden pump and lines aren't either partially clogged.or almost blocked. Is the hot water at 140 degrees? If not then the element inside may be attempting to heat the water to that minimum setting, If this doesn't help then I'd look at replacing the timer.

Hello ! We have a Whirlpool "Quiet Wash Plus" dishwasher that is approx 12yrs old. It has performed exceptional over this time, but notice recently it does not get the dishes as clean as before....

Is the water level ok? Check your water temp into the tub. It needs to be a minimum 120 degrees. Check for plugged spray arms. Do they turn freely? Does dishwasher drain completely?

My dishwasher isn't draining after it's cycles.

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.
