Question about LG LHD45EL Dehumidifier
Posted by Anonymous on
Yes, there are some things you can check.
The first thing to check is the setting on the Dehumidifier. If it's above 60%, it's not likely that the compressor will turn ON, as 60% is a pretty high humidity level. Keep in mind, if it's set at 60% that's what it will maintain, not remove. Lowering the level to 45% will have a much bigger effect.
Now, let's suppose, after turning the setting down, it doesn't cause the compressor to turn ON.
Take the unit into the bathroom, plug it in and turn it ON, with the Humidity setting at 45% or lower. Turn the shower on, using hot water and on the way out close the door. DO NOT run the exhaust fan in the bathroom. Wait about 15 to 20 minutes, return to the bathroom, turn the shower OFF and check the water collection bucket for water. If any water is in the bucket, your unit is working as it should.
Check and clean the air intake filter regularly. A clogged filter causes the compressor strain to keep up. Also, cleaning the coolant coils prior to using it in the Summer, can go a long way. After cleaning, a light coat of WD40 really helps.
Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.
