Hi
There should be a red magnet in the water tank. If its not there, thats your problem.

You should turn on the hot water and let it flow for a few second everytime you turn on the machine. This problem is caused by air lock in the hose.

With the water jug full of water, the machine still keeps saying refill water.

unplug from outlet for 20 minutes. If the jug is removable, thoroughly clean the area where the jug sits and the part of jug that sits on the coffee maker. If that doesn't work, look online for the makers web site / phone number and ask for help.

I have a Delonghi PrimaDonna ESAM 6600. Just recently it stopped frothing milk. To explain fully, I have outlined the sequence of the fault below and resolution steps that I have already tried.

That sounds like the spout is blocked, when the pump goes quiet it is because it has built up pressure and the solenoid is barely moving. Have a probe up the nozzle and see what happens.

Why do I get the Add Water error when my reservoir is full? If I am brewing a K-cup it works fine but if I try to brew a K-carafe pack it says Add Water even though the reservoir is full. This is my 6th...

I'm writing this same answer on all issues related to "add water" issues. We just purchased a brand new 2.0 yesterday and were trying to make our first cup but could not get past "add water". Among other instructions Customer Service said the water needed to be luke warm/ room temperature. We even microwaved the water jug for a minute but it didn't work. What did work was filling the reservoir half full of jug water and then adding nearly boiling water until the reservoir was at Max level. I pushed Continue and it began to work. I used a digital thermometer and saw the water temp was 113 degrees. I hope this helps you.

I have a Delonghi EAM 4500 and it does not froth/Foam the mil, I have replaced the milk cover lid 3 times, still it works for a short time then stops.

remove the o rings where the milk frother connects to, there is a green, red and black rubber O ring. Remove them and get a toothpick and clean around where they sit. You will notice a hard milk build up like when you get on your teeth. This is what
tbirdfan1 says:
may be causing your problem the o-rings are not setting their properly

tbirdfan1 says:
here is some more information

tbirdfan1 says:
It turns out the electrical connection for the solenoid valve that feeds the hot water out into the milk jug/hot water tap had come loose. They are clipped on rather than being soldered into place. Trace the wires back to the main board from the sole

tbirdfan1 says:
from the solenoid (brass bit with grommets) and check that the clips are in place.

Delonghi Magnifica Coffee Maker the milk is not frothing properly - there's lots of steam & very little milk being issued from the spout We clean the milk jug each day, have adjusted the plastic tube...

You did not state anything about descaling, but every now and then, I also add water and descaler to the milk container and use the "Frothing" program to run through the water and descaling-solution (double-click the Cappuchino button).
I have also noticed that the first cup (and sometimes even the second) will produce less milk, and not as well frothed milk as later cups. My theory is that the machine is warmer when producing later cups.
If possible, you could try to run two-three frothings of plain water through before switching to milk. I realize this is inconvenient, but it could be worth testing this to see if it helps. We luckily have two milk containers and keep one filled with water just for the purpose of heating up (or whatever we do :) the frothing system before serving the first cappuchino.
Good luck!

Estro da5p error message "Out of Order 2"

I got a used machine that had been sittign for years. On the first several tries to power up, I got that error message a short while after powring it up. My water jug is installed externally for easy access, and I could see the water wasnt getting up the hose all the way to the machine. So I elevated the water jug by placing it on top, then the water fed and the message didn't appear. This may not have much to do with your situation, but maybe it will help. (Maybe error 2 relates to water shortage) You could remove the back panel and see if water is filling the tubes. (Caution with hot wires)

If you don't have manuals, I saw them here.

I think I've figured my yard sale EX 80 out. First, the way I think it works... in the tightly sealed boiler the water is heated to boiling, it must have a pressure release valve that sends the water/steam through the coffee and into the carafe. So dangerously hot and under pressure. Before opening the big round cap at the top (reservoir) relieve pressure at the steam tube valve (right side)

Here's how I made my first batch:

When opening reservoir always turn unit off, let reservoir cool a little between batches or you may get a cloud of steam in your face when pouring in water, might not be good for the heating element to shock it with sudden drastic temperature changes either.

Cleaned by running a couple of jugs of water through, cold water (4 on the supplied jug) into the reservoir all parts installed. I read somewhere online (not specific to any machine) not lukewarm water, if it's online it must be true... right?

Put coffee into filter basket/basket holder, matching amount of water in reservoir, 2 or 4 (markings on filter and jug). Espresso coffee should be very finely ground

Install all covers and the coffee basket/filter basket, close steam tube valve, install carafe and turn on the machine. Should get blast of espresso after a couple of minutes.

The steam tube (operated by the valve) seems a little cheesy on first try but I'll get better with practice. There's no steam to the tube until the reservoir starts to send steam to the coffee, the coffee kinda restricts the steam enough to send it to the tube. I was thrown a little because I didn't get steam when I was cleaning the thing, but I think that was because there was no coffee to block the flow. So I opened the valve at the start of the brew, steamed the milk, closed the valve and then the steam blasts through the coffee, tasted good.

Great $1 find.

Hope this helps.

The correct way to start the wash cycle

we have just purchased a Fagor dishwasher also - the instruction manual is worthless.

in regards to the 2 thin tubes, we just inserted them in the gallon jugs that the soap/rinse agents comes in and it works fine. just make sure the clear tube without the label goes in the rinse agent and the labeled tube goes in the soap jug. we did drill a hole in the top cap of the jugs and pushed the line thru and that helped keeping the tubes in the jugs and minimized the mess if the jugs fell over.

in regards to the temperature problem, we found that running it thru a couple of cycles before you start the actual dishes helped get the water temperature up faster. it seems to like to start with normal tap hot water first, so the 1st couple of cycles get the cold water out of the line.
