I have a Hitachi AX-M131U Hi-Fi system connected to a dedicated digital aerial. Following the instructions in the manual (which I have to say are extremely poorly translated) on tuning to DAB stations I have done a full scan during which 28 stations were detected. The first of these is JUICE and tuning defaults to this (as the manual says it would), reception perfect. My trouble is that I cannot then change to any other station! If I use the "Search Forward" button on the remote I can step through all 28 channels (names displayed and I've counted them) but the output remains firmly tuned to JUICE, without any interruption. If I pause at the name of another station, it continues to show for a few seconds (still JUICE output) and then the display reverts to "JUICE". The manual is of absolutely no use, and all my experiments with other buttons to store stations or tune to anything else have proved fruitless. What is going on please?

Use a long piece of wire. Was it too much of an effort to actually write a detailed question? I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.

Ax-m131u DAB not tuning

Solution. Do NOT use the remote control. Instead use only 3 buttons on the top panel of the CD/Radio. Select radio station, tune, finally program. Repeat up to 20 times for each preset. If you start at preset 1 and save it, the next preset will automatically be saved on preset 2, and so on. It works!

Can not tune in Dab radio on AX-M131U

If it's anything lioke my DAB radio there is a Tune button that you hold down for more than 5secs and it goes into 'Autotune' mode - so that after some time ,say 1min, all the available stations are tuned1
Hope this works for you .

I have a Hitachi AXM136U and the remote turns my tv on and off when using the hi fi

I sold a hitachi ax-m131U - very similar model - to a buyer who experienced the same problem. The problem is with the TV as it should not react to Hitachi codes. His TV was LG. He contacted LG support and a technician visited to update the software in his plasma!

Hitachi AX-M131U several weeks old, remote not controlling, on manual switch on the volume ramps to max, unable to reduce. Have tried reboot and holding on off button. Any advice???? Regards Geoff Law

This should still be under warranty. It sounds like the internal CPU is confused. This could be a simple power suplpy problem or something a bit more complex. Return it for warranty service.
Keep us posted.

Hi geoffflaw

try turning it off overnight and do a hard reset. Other than that, It is something you should refer back the the supplier and have the unit replaced.
