Gets to here (but without the Start overlay)

    http://www.fixya.com/support/p214508-cre...

Then I see this (the bottom picture)

    http://www.fixya.com/support/p214508-cre...

    I did this:

Reset the player by holding down the play/pause button and pressing the reset button with a paperclip at the same time. Which is supposed to put the player into recovery mode. But does not.

And I tried rebooting the player… dozens of times. The Hdd starts, clicks 3-4x and shuts down, BUT,, I can read and write the HDD just fine (no errs) on an 2.5” USB HDD adaptor. This leads me to believe that the DATA the HDD is looking to get to the START menu is missing. I can see several files on the HDD, but they are NOT standard FAT or NTFS format so I can not READ them or LOAD them into a debugger. Since I cannot get to the Recover mode, I cannot reload Firmware..BUT if I could get an image of the HDD of a GOOD 20Gb Zen MPC, I could copy it over and ‘maybe’ get this working.

Can someone help? Is there a site where such BOOT info for these devices is stored or a techie out there with some time, A 20Gb Zen MPC and a copy of WinHex that can grab it for me?

    Any help appreciated

Reset the player by holding down the play/pause button and pressing the reset button with a paperclip at the same time. (the reset button looks like a little hole on the side.) This will put the player into recovery mode. Try rebooting the player. if this doesn't work, reinstall the firmware using that option in recovery mode. Does the screen display anything when the charger is plugged in?. if so then your models firmware is corrupt. otherwise maybe the battery is not charged. To update your firmware visit Creative`s website and download the appropriate firmware update for your model.

Lost my disc and trying to get software to sinc/load music onto my 30g nomad jukebox zen xtra. what to do?

Hi there,
You can download all drivers, applications, and firmware from Creative Site here:
in your case, you might need an application like Creative ZENcast Organizer 2.01.01 Suite (synchronize various types of media files and data stored in your Creative portable media player and your computer)

Just try the link and choose that might suite your needs, hope this help.

Stuck in recovery mode

Hi,
Sounds like the actual firmware is corrupted. You might try loading the firmware on the Recovery Mode by using the firmware upgrade available at Creative's website.

Hope this helps

Content in your player has been corrupted by resetting the player during a synchronization session. Reset your player, then connect your player to your computer and re-synchronize the content.

Creative Zen Stone 1GB

you may need to update (and format) the firmware of your stone, it is downloadable from creative but unfortunately their support site is under repair.

http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=213&subcategory=214&product=16424

once they're back on, open the site, click support then downloads, get the firmware upgrade utility (inside it is the firmware) the just run it on your PC with the Stone connected to it.

good luck.

It doesn't work!

Maybe a corrupt file or such is loaded on it. Try loading the format screen and formatting the zen and reinstalling the firmware. It's worth a shot.
