Dust in the culprit. I am having the same problem (and so are many other people.)

Look around for instructions on opening and using condensed air to clean out.

I already wasted $225 thinking it was the bulb.

let vehicle cool down fully, repair overheating problem, Obviously there is a problem as it overheated.... also look for a coolant temp sensor or engine overheat protection sensor which shuts it down to protect it from cooking the motor.

Shuts down not allowing Windows XP to start

If the Computer shuts down automatically, then the issue might usually be due to the overheating issues.
The overheating issues develop, if the Cooling Fan in the Computer is malfunctioning.
The Processors are designed to shut down automatically, if there are any overheating issues.
For such issues, it would be better to get the Unit examined at the Service Center.
Replacing the Cooling Fan should resolve the issue.

Hope this helps.

I was running the program "windon Defender" on it and walked away. When I returned the computer was off and wasn't turn back on.

The Windows Defender Application is the Antivirus Software which will be pre-installed with the Windows Operating System(Windows Vista, Windows 7).
The Computer will always Shut down after any Windows Updates or any Operating System Updates are downloaded and installed.
If you are connected to the Internet and running Windows Defender, the Computer will automatically download the Updates for the Windows Defender Application.
Once the Updates are downloaded and installed, the Computer will prompt for a shut down.
The count down will be for 10 seconds.
After 10 seconds, the Computer will install the downloaded Updates and shut down.
This might be the reason for the Computer to shut down while using the Windows Defender.

If the Computer still shuts down randomly, the issue might be due to overheating.
All the Processors in Notebooks are designed to shut down automatically, if there is any overheating issues.
The overheating issue mainly occurs due to the malfunction of the Cooling fan.
If the Computer shuts down frequently, the issue might be due to the above factors.
It would be better to get the Unit examined at the Service Center.

Overheating and turning off

Laptop shuts down? Computers may not be smarter than people, but if they’re designed properly, they will shut themselves down before overheating to the extent that they do themselves damage. If the smart person keeps turning the notebook back on and figures out a way to foil the protection, the laptop is probably doomed. Once a laptop shuts down for thermal event protection, it may refuse to power back up for a fixed period of time, five or ten minutes, or it may begin to boot and shut down immediately as soon as it boots to the point that it can figure out that its too hot. The over-temperature protection is generally a BIOS rather than an operating system function, so one sign of an overheated laptop is one that shuts itself down while you’re using it and then refuses to boot as far as the operating system unless you leave it alone for an hour or so to cool down. Unless you’ve been working in a very unfriendly environment, high temperatures, direct sunlight, etc, you should take even a single overheating shutdown as a warning to back up your data at the first opportunity and to give the cooling system a serious cleaning.

Whenever my computer starts up and shows the Windows XP logo it shuts down and shows me while starting up that windows wasn't started up rite. Than after a week it COMPLETELY messes up. I've tried a FULL...

It is one of 2 things....

1. It is overheating. Overheating will cause the computer to randomly shut down. You can usually decifer if it is overheating by trying to put the computer back on after it shuts down. For example , start it up...let it shut down...then try to put it back on again...if it doesn't come on at all, or if it shuts down even quicker then the previous time, you are most likely looking at an overheating issue. To remedy that you want to open up the case, clean out all of the dust with a compressed air can (be very careful not to tip the can, it will spray liquid), and verify that all of the system fans are running.

2. Could be any type of hardware failure - from the power supply to the hard drive. If you have completly ruled out the overheating issue, I would just take it to a shop to get diagnosed.
