No picture avt 1475 In 1997 dodge Mark lll van overhead mount Sound comes on but not picture just boufght the van guy before me says picture comes on "when it wants" ?
I have the same problem, I have the same tv mounted on a 1995 GMC Vandura conversion van, does anyone knows how to fix this problem?
I just get sound but no video. I have to turn tv on and off until the video decide to come up.

If this is connected to a VHS or DVD player or roof antenna, when problem occurs Check to see that the video in to TV cable is tight. If so you my need a new cable

Using a web search engine, I found this little video. Tell the guy thanks who posted it if this helps. Just "click" on the picture of the diagram and it expands for easier reading. Good luck.
depending on trans and engine mount type the mark my be on flywheel but generally most cars it is located on the belt pulley attached to crank rod, center bottom one on engine block. the timeing mark should be visable from top looking down. if you use a big ratchet to turn over the engine by hand and go slowly, you should see thhe marks pass as you do so.
Remove pax wheel, splash guard, power steering pump, motor
mount, crankshaft pulley, plastic covers (3).
Before removing, clearly
mark timing
belt
and pulley with paint marker because overhead cams will move it engine
is not at top dead center. Remove tentioner pulley and remove belt.
Compress piston rod with clamp and hold down with small allen wrench
through pin hole.
Replace belt, then tensioner pulley with pin still in
place.
Remove allen wrench and good luck. Install everything in reverse.
Tedious but possible for anyone with some mechanic experience.
Remove negative battery cable.
Remove the electrical plug and wireing. Mark them.
Loosen the alternator pivot bolt.
Remove the bolt that attaches the alternator to the adjustment arm.
Rotate the alternator to loosen the drive belt and disengage the belt from the pulley. Be careful that any spacers that are used in mounting are kept with their original bolts. This will make correct reinstallation much easier.
While supporting the alternator remove the pivot bolt.
Remove the alternator from the vehicle.
Do the reverse procedure to install new alternator.
Mine did the same thing this week. It was caused by the white ribbon cord. The cord got bent over and over as you flip the tv open and broke the wires inside. The cord is soldered directly to the circuit boards on both ends of the unit. I do not think an average joe can fix it because it requires soldering a new cord to the circuit boards on both ends. I am going to buy a new unit for around 200$ and install it.
RDD6 - I had the same problem with my AVT-1498. Took it to the repair shop who told me it would cost hundreds to repair. I figured I could find a replacement crt for less but was wrong - they don't make these tv's anymore, and really don't make any 12v crt's anymore period. So I decided on a 15" 12v ready LCD model which fit the hole where the old crt TV use to be. I needed to rig it to hold the LCD bracket but that wasn't too difficult. Then just hooked the wires back up. Good luck with your situation.
