Frequent Disconnection is either the channel or wireless interference. However, I would suggest three steps and one ( or all ) should help
1. Change the frequency of the router. Leave it in auto mode ( or choose 6 or 11 ) 2. Remove all interfering equipment ( microwave, cordless phones , etc ) 3. Upgrade the firmware of your router.
Hope this helps
Thanks

Disconnect from time to time

Download an app called Wifi Analyzer (by farproc).
It shows the Wi-Fi channels around you and helps you to find a less crowded channel for your wireless router. If there are a number of users with channels near your one, simply switch (using your desktop or laptop) and find a less-crowded channel.

Your manual should show you how to do this. Normally you key in something like ... 192.168.1.1 in your browser bar.

Best of luck

D-Link Dir 600 Wireless disconnects

Sounds like you have a bad device. Can you return it? Is it under warranty? You have changed cables, check pins in the DLink connector for bent pins? etc. I use a little vaseline on the copper to prevent oxidation, sounds weird, I know, but it works. I live it a humid climate. Try a Contact Spray for electronics, it's a life saver.

Really unstable Dlink dir-655 router

I would suggest you try to change the channel to a higher one and this solves this problem most of the times...You need to go to your router configuration to do that usually by opening a browser and type 192.168 ... and log in into your router...Hope this helps.

Macbook pro only laptop in house that drops wireless connection

This sounds like an Intermittent Wireless connection problem. This is caused by cordless phones with 2.4GHz frequency. What you can do is change the Wireless Channel of your router to a different frequency/channel like channel 11, 1 or 9. Also you can try to relocate the base of your cordless phone away from the router or to a different room. In addition, you can try positioning the router to higher places like on top of cabinet or mount it on the wall..
