Usually compressors are fairly hot but to reduce the temperature, cleaning the black coils will help more heat escape and allow the unit to run more efficiently. Use a long coil cleaning brush to clean the coils, and get all the dust off. You can purchase one at almost any hardware store. Good luck

There could be a loss of freon(unlikely but possible), the start capacitor for the compressor is bad (most likely) or the thermal cut off switch on the compressor is cycling from the hot compressor.

I have a brand new mini fridge, the type with a freezer as well. Its compressor has been getting extremely hot lately (too hot to touch), but it's still keeping everything cold and the freezer is still...

It is possible that the setting of the thermostat is too high and that the compressor is finding it hard to reach the set temperature thereby making it work so hard so as to heat up. Now as per design this must not happen but if the thermostat or the auto defrost does not work then the compressor might be working too much and so will BURN OUT in the long run. The compressor might warm up but not HEAT.
So if the fault stays with a lower settting please contact dealer for warranty. If not this seems to be a fault with the compressor and you must stake claim for warranty.

Daleb870, Compressors on referigators run hot to the touch. You are experinceing a couple diffrent issues. First off 0 and 36 is a very ideal temp. The compressor and tubing are most likely hotter than normal as it was trying to cool down a fridge that was house temperature. After the fridge runs for a while and the load on the fridge is equalized the tubing will not be quite as hot. It and the compressor will still be very hot to the touch. The compressor its self right aroung 130f. But its normal.

My fridge compartment and freezer compartment is warm. i dont know alot about fridges, so please dont be too technical with me. and its a very old model, 106.769830 E92812566

If both compartments are warm, this means that the compressor is either not running or is running and not circulating the refrigerant. We need to know if the compressor is running. Its the black can looking thing behind the refrigerator at the bottom with copper tubes going to it. If it feels cool to the touch it is not running. If it is warm or hot, it is running and not pumping. If its not running it may be a problem with the thermostat, the defrost timer or the compressor itself. If it is running and hot but the fridge isn't cooling, it may have a leak or a bad compressor or relay.

Clicking, buzzing, compressor too hot, thawed out

Sounds like the compressor is in thermal overload. Let it cool down completely and meter the starting amperage on start to run. The compressor could be seized or it's windings could be shorted to ground (checking the resistance between the windings terminals on the compressor while unplugged will determine this.).

Divider between freezer and fridge is hot to the touch

That is not a problem, it is designed to use "waste heat" from the cooling system to warm this area to prevent condensation from forming there without having to use the extra energy required if an electric heater were used. It will be noticeably warmer while the compressor is running and has been running for a time than if the compressor has been off for a period of time.

Freezer not freezing and fridge not cooling

Check the back wall of the freezer for ice buildup.
If yes, a defrost parts problem.
Check the freezer fan. Is it running?
If no, replace the freezer fan.
Check the condenser fan at the compressor. Is it running?
If no, is compressor hot?
If compressor is hot replace condenser fan motor.
If compressor is not hot.
Replace the compressor start relay.

Transported a fridge on its side, waited 24hrs, plugged in.

Transporting frig on side probably damaged the compressor due to the oil inside draining from bottom. Do you know if the bulbs were working before you purchased? If they were you may have damaged the door switch, easy fix, just replace. Compressor replacement should be left to a pro. Probably looking at a couple hundred. One other thought is you might have caused a gas leak during transporting, another job for a pro.

Outside freezer hot and seals

Fridge has either mullion heaters around door or most likely steel pipes just inside the skin of the perimeter of the door, this is to stop ice or condensation forming around the door seals, mainly the freezer, they are part of the condenser circuit ( hot part of the refrigeration system).
It is normal for these to get hot, but in your case may be hotter than usual because of the constant running, the running may be caused by hot ambient temperatures, system being slightly short of refrigerant, faulty thermostat or in-efficient compressor.
I suggest if temp is ok inside fridge dont worry too much, if you notice fridge starts loosing its capacity to refrigerate, have a refrigeration tech look at it.
