Error Message I recharged my battery last night after taking pictures and modifying some photos. This morning I turned on my camera because I was going to tr and download pics onto computer. I plugged in cord to the camera and to the printer port (that may have been my mistake) Nothing happened, since the camera wasn't on. I turned on the camera and I got this error message (on a red screen): Camera hs experienced an error. 00000013-2F6B-FFF-298 Please reset your camera I tried the lightly smacking the camera. It closed the lens cover...but that's it. Can you help?

Tried to take pics but got msg that battery is not charge enough to take pics.  I charged the battery overnight and nothing.  I turn on the camera and the little blue light illuminates for 1 sec and goes out, still no charge.  Do I need a new battery (camera only 1 year old) or do you think the charger is bad.  I know the energy source is good.  Please help.

Have you tried resetting your camera? To reset your camera, open the battery cover and you should see a small hole inbetween the SD card slot and the battery release switch. Then use a small narrow object (i.e. mechanical pencil with its lead extended) and press into the hole. You should feel it "click" and then hold it for about 3 seconds. Try restarting your camera.

Note: Please backup all the data on your SD card before doing this.

Hope this helps

The most likely cause is a bad battery. But before you throw it out, try discharging it and then recharging it.

Probably the fastest way to discharge the battery is to turn on the flash and start taking pictures. It doesn't matter what you take pictures of, you're going to throw them away afterward. Just point the camera away from you and start clicking. Take a hundred pictures or so, or until the battery level drops below 25%, or the flash recharge time gets very long. Note the battery level, then recharge it overnight again and see what the level goes to.

Use a card reader instead of the camera and download to a folder you create on your desktop.

Does the rechargable batter go bad? I have a

Yes, rechargeable batteries can go bad. You should try using a separate card reader to download your pictures...solves a lot of problems. Try cleaning the battery contacts in the camera with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol.

When I want to delete photos from my memory card, I get a message saying "card is locked". What does this mean and how can I fix it? I recharged my battery last night.

You just need to unlock the memory card since it is write protected.

Turn off your camera and take off your card. Look for that tiny lever part and adjust it up in reverse to its original position. That unlocks the card and you can now delete those pics!

Do let me know if this worked.

Depressing my shutter button on my Fuji FinePix E550 causes it to turn off. When I turn it back on there is a no image message. Is it cheaper to buy a new camera than to have it fixed? Thanks for help

You just need new batteries. That's what the E550 does when the batteries get too low. Please get the latest rechargables. Many of the ordinary AA batteries won't last 50 pictures. Fuji also is rather poor telling you how to charge the rechargables. When the screen goes blue when you take a picture, you must use the camera's de=charging system before recharging--otherwise the rechargables will not take a full charge--that's what's likely happened to you!

Black screen, loud beeping when opened, doesn't work

The following blog outlines some simple repair options for a lens error. But please first try the listed Fix #2. I heard that fix particularly works well for a camera who's battery had run down with the lens open. Please post back here with a follow up comment if any of the fixes work:

Battery problem

It probably lacked the power to retract the lens. I'd start with recharging the battery and see if that corrects the problem.
