SOURCE: changing a belt on a washing machine

There is no belt on this machine.
It uses a direct drive coupling between the motor and transmission.
Ope the control console, then remove the cabinet clips to remove the cabinet for access to the motor.
Remove the motor then remove the broken drive coupling(3 parts).
Replace the part and re-assemble the washer.

What's your problem?i am trying to fit a drive belt to a hotpoint wma66p washing machine but cant stretch it around motor pulley and drum. i cant see a tensioner bolt. is there one?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
There is no tensioner bolt as such; tension is just maintained by the motor support bolts. Please see my notes on belt changes ;-0)

The motor support bolts should be loosened and the old belt removed. Often putting the new belt on is a bit of a struggle, even with the motor 'loose', because it is new and smaller!
Once on it should be tensioned by pulling the motor against the belt firmly- but not over tight- and the motor support bolts tightened.
ON NO ACCOUNT SHOULD ANY FORM OF LEVERAGE BE USED TO TENSION THE BELT AGAINST THE MOTOR OR FRAME; THAT COULD LEAD TO DAMAGE TO THE BELT, MOTOR AND BEARINGS- EXPENSIVE!

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Change the belt of a washing machine

It may happen that you have to reassemble a washing machine belt (belt is being broken or simply withdrawn from its normal location).
With a change thinking about ordering the same belt model.
The mounting is done of a bike chain:
-Placer the belt on the motor axis and a part on the pulley.
loyalty turn the pulley.
-the belt will be implemented alone.

How do you change belt on clutch pully, old belt is there it did not break completely, but cant see how a new one would go on.

if the actual model is what you have on the page LSQ9564J,theres no belts on this machine as they are a direct drive machine and use a drive coupler to turn the transmission, not a belt

Change the belt, a worn belt causes the machine to spin slower.
Tilt the machine back and the belt is accessible underneath the machine, simply remove and replace no tools required.

Cant get new drive belt to fit washing machine. right one but cant get it to stretch enough to fit from drum wheel to motor

this is a common problem as nowadays stretchy belts are used in order to avoid motor adjustment.
fitting requires some brute force. the way i do it is to put the belt on the motor pulley then start it as much as i can on the drum pulley. turn the drum pulley keeping force sideways to push the belt on and as you turn, the belt will go on

Washing machine

you shouldnt have to loosen it, if you put the belt on the motor first then onto the pulley, using both hands (one to keep belt on pulley the other to work the belt around) it should go on pretty quickly, maybe tight though.
hope this helps
