Oops, sorry about that! The dryer actually started working again once I rescued a shirt that had gotten twisted up and caught in a part near the door to the Samsung DV665J. I would still like to know what E3 means, though.

    Thank you--

So the thermostat might need replacing? Would a bad thermostat mean drying might take hours, which it does? I was told that the dryer taking a long time meant that the connecting hose to the outside was full of lint or otherwise blocked. (The guy who has been going to take a look at this hasn't shown up when he said he would).

    Thank you, Kevin!

OK! I guess I know where to go from here...thanks very much, Kevin...

Kevin was helpful and gave me good advice about what to do with my dryer.

    Yeah...E3 error
is a overload error and flashes when either the vent is blocked or the thermal
fuse/thermostat is bad and needs replaced. Great that its solved for you......Please

What is fault E3?

E3 means that the heating element is operating when it should not be doing so. It may be caused by an older, weaker element that is taking too long to heat the water or the thermostat may be giving incorrect readings. Ensure you are using hot water to fill the machine (if tied to your faucet water supply, run the water until it is hot before starting the dishwasher). Information from the Belling manual:

If the heating element is still heating after the allowed time, then the control board will advance the programme to next step and at the end of the washing cycle the alarm buzzer will sound for 30 sec and the display will show E3.

When the control board detects that the heating element is operating during a non heating step or during the internal test the heating circuit is found to be open circuit then the alarm buzzer will sound for 30 sec and the control board will cease all functions except for the drain cycle which will run for 90 seconds and then E3 will be displayed on the control panel.

Error e3

Thank you for your post, friend!

I understand that your Electrolux washer is displaying an "E3" error code while it is spinning. However, it appears "E3" is an invalid error code. It is possible that the error code is missing characters? I suggest resetting your washer. You can do this by flipping the household circuit breaker for roughly ten minutes. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, and your washer continues to display "E3" I would recommend contacting a professional to come and properly diagnose your appliance. -Matt

My whirlpool cabrio dryer has an error code "PF" What does this mean?

Hello,
The PF error code means power failure. IF the dryer was running and the power went off that display would show. I am assuming your power didtn go off yet the dryer trought it did, so the things to check is for a good tight connection on the power cord at the back of the dryer, a possible loose connection on the wall outlet where the cord plugs into ,or even a weak circuit breaker.

Good luck,
Gene

It won't start and displays E3 fault code. Manual says this is faulty coils? Took apart and cleaned all, looks good. Still has code displayed and won't run. How to clear fault code? Thank You.Jeff

E3 means "unit-abnormal protection to avoid occurence of unit damage."

Manufactures does not recommend that a homeowner try to attempt a repair on a code like this as it indicates possible wiring or internal problems. Have you checked for an internal fuse on the circuit board? I would also check the incoming power to make sure you have the proper voltage. You can also try unplugging the unit, waiting 30 seconds and plug back in to see if the code disappears.
According to A/A brands, if this code appears, shut off device and call authorized service company. I'm just trying to get you some things you can check yourself prior to doing that.

Hope this helps.
