I HAVE AVISION SCANNER 8050U. NOW THE MASSAGE SHOWING "PAD COUNT EXCEEDS 50000, PLEASE REPLACE THE ADF PAD AND RESET THE PAD COUNT". HOW I CAN RESET THIS MASSAGE. PLEASE HELP ME.

7.2 REPLACING THE ADF SNAP-IN PAD MODULE

According to the manual, the pad needs to be replaced after 50,000 scans. Here is a cut and paste from the manual that explains how to replace the part. It does not seem very complicated and the manual also explains how to reset the counter after the pad has been replaced.


After scanning approximately 50,000 pages through the ADF, the separation pad may be worn out and you may experience problems with document feeding. In this case, it is highly recommended to replace the pad module with a new one. For ordering the pad module, please consult your nearest dealer and follow the procedure below to replace it.



Disassembling Procedure

  1. Open the ADF cover.
2. Remove the ADF snap-in pad module by pulling out the upper part of the pad clamp.

After scanning 50,000 pages through the auto document feeder, the ADF pad may be worn out and you may experience the problems with document feeding. In this case, it is recommended to replace the ADF pad with a new one. You can call your nearest dealer to order the new one. In the meantime, go to scanner properties from your computer. I believe in control panel, select your scanner, and right click and click on properties, and go to Information tab, and click on "Reset Pad Count" to the reset it. Remember, soon you still need to replace ADF pad.

Please clean the followings using a cloth/ cleaning paper moistened with iso-propyl alcohol:(Pls refer to page-95 of your scanner getting started guide)
1.Pad Assy 2. Ultrasonic sensor 3. Idler roller 4. Pick roller 5. feed roller 6. Eject roller and 7. Glass surface

If the above doesn't help, then check the Pad Assy & Pick Roller count. If the counts exceeds the suggested replacement cycles, then you you may have to replace the same. Pls refer to page-99 of the getting started guide supplied with your scanner.

I have a Fujitsu 4220c2 scanner and when scanning multiple documents it'll take one half half/quarter way through and get stuck. The pick roller and pad assembly have been replaced. What could be causing...

This error is detected when one of the followings occurs: (TWAIN Error-Paper jammed in the ADF - Code DS32002), Scanner panel error-U1
1) A document does not reach the TOP sensor while the scanner has transported the document about 250 mm to pick. (The scanner performs retry operation.) 2) The trailing edge of a document does not reach the TOP sensor after the scanner transports the document by the length (L) below. (The document may have slipped on the rollers) Check the followings: 1.Scan condition - Transported length (L) before jam 2.ADF fixed size - scanning Approximately 450 mm 3.Long paper scanning -1.2 times of the specified value
If the imprinter is installed, paper jam can occur in the following case. If the scanner starts scanning when the imprinter cable (EXT cable) is not connected to the scanner, it does not rotate the imprinter, since it recognizes the imprinter not installed, which results in paper jam in the imprinter section.
Solution:
Remove the jammed document and close the ADF. When the error frequently occurs, refer to the followings:
1. Do the documents satisfy paper specification? Please read the operator guide for paper specification. 2. Have the documents been jogged? • Align the edge of documents for stable paper feeding. • Remove documents with crease or dog-ear. • Scanning different width of documents may cause skew and result in paper jam. 3. Is the Imprinter EXT cable correctly connected to the scanner? Check the cables. (only when the Imprinter is installed) 4. Clean rollers in ADF and Imprinter and see if the error is removed. (only when the Imprinter is installed) 5. Replace Pick roller and Pad ASY and see if the error is removed. Check the consumable counter from the TWAIN driver screen. When the counter exceeds the values shown, replace Pick roller or Pad ASY.
If the above do not help, then the issue could be caused by the followings:
6. Malfunction of TOP sensor. 7. Malfunction of Cover open sensor. 8. Faulty Scanner Control PCA.
If Imprinter is installed, then the issue could be caused by the followings:
1. Malfunction of Sensor OPB5 lever (only when the Imprinter is installed). 2. Malfunction of Motor LF if the imprinter roller does not rotate.(only when the Imprinter is installed). 3. Faulty Imprinter Control PCA. (only when the Imprinter is installed).

When ever you face such type of issue, the Scanner will display U-2 error with the Red led blinking and the TWAIN display will be "The multi feed is detected.(Code DS32006)".

To resolve the issue, please follow the steps provided below:

#Check if the documents satisfy paper specification? Please refer to the Operator’s Guide for paper specification, paying
attention to the following points:

• Is there any print within 10mm x 10 mm square in the center of documents on the top?
• Is multi feed error detected by paper length when scanning documents with different length?
• Is there perforation in the center of documents?

#Check ADF and clean pick roller, Pad ASY and around DF sensor with care.

#Replace Pick roller and Pad ASY and see if the error is removed. Check the consumable counter from the TWAIN driver screen. When the counter exceeds the permitted values, replace Pick roller or Pad ASY. If the error still occurs, confirm that the cable is correctly connected then replace the sensor.

Avision AV8350??? the error led is on, first time the led on & off For 8 number Sequence. then on for ever.

When you first turn the scanner back on, the READY light will blink, indicating that the diagnostics are in progress. If the Ready LED and Paper Jam LED blink 8 times, the error indication is "Light Check Fail (ADF)" or "Flatbed /ADF inverter check error".

Followings are the solution for the above problem:

1. Lamp is on? Yes. CCD error, Optical assembly is to be replaced.
2. Lamp is on? No. Flatbed or ADF Inverter error. Lamp inverter circuit is to be replaced.
3. Lamp is on? Yes. Issue resolved.
4. If the Lamp is still off, then Lamp is to be replaced.
5. If the issue still persists, then you may have to contact the authorized Avision Service personnel for further diagnosis and suggested repair or replacement.

How to remove Assembly pad message after replacement


you can reset this message in the scanner controll panel.
Please call windows <start>
<settings>
<system control>
<scanner and cameras>
open <scanner and cameras>
inside you will find your fujitsu scanner fi-5120C
now call <attributes>
-- in WIN2000 there is a button, in XP use the right mouse button--
in <device settings> you see the ADF counter, an the consumable counters for pad and pick roller.
Reset the changed parts, confirm the EEPROM writing
and the message will be cleared.
