Try to let it dry out thoroughly , I have heard, in cases of a wet iPod, putting them in a bowl of rice helps dry them out. (Apparently it pulls the moisture out of the device) Remove the batteries and the card (if it has one) and let it dry for awhile and test it later. If it works great, if not then its probably busted.

Camera has died after getting cold and wet. How can I get it to restart?

Hi A Strootman,
How did it become wet? Was it rain, snow, or salt water. If salt water you may be in for a big repair bill. Most digital cameras do not do well in rain, nor in very high humid locations as well. You may need to have a CLS performed by Canon.

Camera takes pictures automatically when switch

There is left-over water damage, which is never good news. Every switch contact inside the camera will have to cleaned as well as it can be. It sounds like the camera is still working, but the switches have corrosion, causing them to short and automatically cause the camera to turn on. You can try to disassemble the camera, and clean them, but it will not be easy. Often, water damage cannot be totally reversed, but in this case you might be able to salvage the camera. Most of the time, even a warranty will not cover water damage, so you have no choice but to try to fix it yourself or get it serviced. Make sure you get an estimate before you have it serviced, since the cost can be considerable. Wish I had better news for you.

I left my Sony DSLR our in then .. it didnt rain for a long time. When I finally remembered and went to pick it up it was completely dry .. we didnt turn it on and we took the battery out immediately .....

Hi!

You may keep it turned off until all the external parts and the battery compartments get dry. Furthermore, since the Camera has got wet in rain so there is possibility that rain water may have imbibed inside the Camera thus causing mechanical failure.

So, if the Camera doesn't turn ON even after drying it completely and charging the Battery fully. In that case, service will be required.

My camera got wet from the rain a few months ago and I changed the batteries and tryed cleaning the blue batterie acid off but recently when I would go to turn my camera on it doesn't turn on and when it...

Dissolve some baking soda in water, dampen a cotton swab and try to remove the blue. Also, try something abrasive like a pencil eraser or a tiny wire brush.

'File error' message on samsung L200 camera when viewing a photo

Possible solution:

I had/have the same problem using L200 and SDHC memory card, called Samsung. Can't view certain pictures on camera or computer, camera freezes when viewing those certain pictures, green light flashing.

Samsung support told me that I needed to copy my (good) pictures to a computer first because a memory format will erase everything. Then format (menu->settings->format->yes) my memory card. Tried this just now and took some new pictures, so far so good.

My brand new d60 got wet taking pics in rain

If I were to use a camera in rainy conditions a lot, I would get one that uses an external flash. Internal flashes can blow a camera with one wet picture, and it happens quite often. Tell em it just stopped working one day I guess. They will not fix it if you tell them that wet story.
