I have a Martin Industries model DH50 dehumidifier that runs constantly until full of water. I can't shut the unit off without unplugging it and I can't control how dry I want the area. What part do I need?

Dont spend to much time trying to repair dehumidifier they are very cheap to replace. Most dehumidifiers have lots of problems because they are made so cheap. Just replace the dehumidifier you will tank me in the end.

I have a delongji DEM 10 dehumidifier and it keeps switching to pause, I have cleaned filter switched off for a while but it still won't come on

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

Unless you are licensed and qualified professional, do not try to repair a dehumidifier by yourself. If your unit is running constantly yet there is no water in the tank, try lowering the temperature control. If the problem persists, there may be a problem within the refrigeration system. You may need to pull the filter and clean it. Also try wiping off the unit itself. When the water tank is full, the unit will shut off and will not run until the tank is emptied. The dehumidifier shuts off by a safety switch in the back of the unit. If the switch is not working properly, you may try manually pressing the button or slightly bending the switch.
Motor If the fan motor is damaged or will not work, no cool air will be coming out of the dehumidifier. The unit, however, may still run. You may need to replace the motor. If the coils in the back of the dehumidifier constantly freeze, try turning off the unit for an hour or re-locating the unit to a higher position to allow the room to heat up. If your water tank is constantly full and you are emptying it on a daily basis, you may have a water leak somewhere in the room with the dehumidifier.

Coils freeze up. completely blocked. have to shut off to thaw coils. located in basement.

After the unit is totally thawed and dried, turn the unit Off if you haven't already and unplug it. Remove the filter and clean it. If it's really dirty wash it with warm water and dish washing liquid, thoroughly rinse it and allow it to completely dry, before reinstalling. DO NOT operate the unit without the filter in place.

Because the air temperature in a basement is colder at floor level, than at shoulder level, this caused the coils to freeze. Dehumidifiers do not work well at temperatures at or below 60 degrees F. That is, unless, it's a Low Temperature model, designed especially for basement applications. Obviously, yours isn't a Low Temp model.

To overcome this, place the unit up on a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight of the unit, as well as a full bucket of water. The higher off the floor the better. This way, the ambient operational temperature will be higher and the coils will have less of chance to freeze again.

I would suggest that continue to monitor the unit and if you notice that it's doing more than a little frosting on the coils, turn the unit OFF immediately. A little frosting is normal and the deforst mode should kick in and thaw the coils. When this happens, the compressor should automatically shut OFF, but the fan will continue to run. Once it's defrosted, the compressor will start again, if necessary.

I hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know.

The dehumidifier does not shut off when the resevoir is full and therefore over flows.....how can I fix this

Turn the unit OFF and unplug it from the wall. Remove the bucket and empty any water that may be in it. Then, look at the top of the bucket for a float valve control. It slides from left to right, depending on whether you want it to shut off at half full or three quarters full. Slide the float left until it snaps for 3/4 full or all the way to the right until it snaps for 1/2 full. The bucket must be properly aligned for the float to work.

In your case, the float may have moved to the middle. Or the bucket is not squarely into it's holder, from top to bottom.

Troubleshooting the above should solve the problem.

Fedders a7dh45b2a*a-r dehumidifier shuts off before the bucket fills

Actually, it's probably doing what it should. Let me explain: Dehumidifiers run until they have lowered the humidity/moisture level to where you have the humidity extraction level set. At that point, the unit shuts OFF, until senses the humidity level has risen above where you set the level and it turns ON again. That doesn't mean the bucket will always be full when it shuts OFF. It may turn ON & OFF many times before the bucket is full. Watch for the Bucket Full Light to illuminate. That's when the bucket is FULL and needs to be emptied.

Hope this helped you understand how the unit works.

I am not sure of the exact model number, but the unit is rated for 70 pints. It shutdowns and lights the full bucket lamp, but the bucket is not full (there is a hose attached). I dis-assembled the unit...

The problem is that the hose connection tube that the hose is connected to, is clogged. That's the reason water was going to the bucket and the full bucket sensor was shutting the unit OFF

To unclog the tube, you will need an 18" long Plastic Zip Tie or something similar (NO Wire Coat Hangers, though) that is appropriately sized to fit into the hole. Before doing anything, Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit.

Carefully insert the Zip Tie into the hose connection hole/tubing and continue to gently push it in, until it reaches the bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work past this bend, until it bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Now, slowly remove it, while rotating it. This will dislodge the clog. As the Zip Tie is almost totally removed, be prepared for some water to follow.

The above should solve your problem. Will you still need the wiring schematic to reconnect the bucket safety switch? If so, please let me know.

My dehumidifier compressor runs and then shuts off, then runs and shuts off, continuously. The fan continues to run. It seems to be pulling water, though it's hard to tell how much because I have a...

Part of the problem may be that you have the humidity level set to high. The fan runs constantly to move the air around. When the unit senses a humidity level higher than what you have it set for, the compressor turns ON. Once it's ON, if the humidity level is short lived, it turns OFF.

Try setting the humidity level to the lowest possible setting. Usually, that 45%. If the humidity level in you home is higher than that, the compressor should turn ON and run until either the bucket is full or the humidity level reaches 45%. If this doesn't solve the problem, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit from the wall outlet for 12-15 minutes. Plug the unit bakc in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and set the humidity level at it's lowest setting. Allow the unit to run until it cuts OFF and check the bucket for water. Hopefully that 12-15 minute time out allowed the unit to reset itself.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

I have been given a old Martin Industries Edison 25 dehumidifier, but have no manual. Question 1: The collection tank has a short plastic tube connected at bottom side of tank via threaded connection....

WOW, you do have an antique. Martin hasn't made those since back in the 80's. Martin Industries has been out of business now, for 5+ years. Since it's missing some parts and there's no Owners Manual available, I'd recommend not using it, because of the danger it would impose.

Zenith ZD30 dehumidifier - 1 1/2 years old stopped working had a half bucket oc colledted water in bucket when it stopped. I checked the fuse on the circuit board and have continuity.

Unplug from wall. Take the front cover off and disconnect the 2 wires that attach to the humidity control dial. Plug back in. If it works, the problem is the humidty control dial (mine just went bad). With it unhooked, it will run constantly, but will still turn off when the bucket is full. To turn off, simply unplug.
