I have the Bolle Limit 10387. Is it possible to put prescriptions in these sunglasses?

Bolle certainly sells prescription sunglasses for your style of frame. You would have to check with the company you want to get prescription lenses from if they can manufacture the lenses to fit your frames. They should be able to. Otherwise, you will have to go to Bolle to have them done. The other issue you may run into is that an outside lens manufacturer may not be able to get certain features in the lens Bolle may be able to offer. It will also probably void any warranty for the frames from Bolle you may have. I have found other online sites that offer prescription lenses for your frames, www.opticsplanet.com

What are the differences between lenses? I know some are made of plastic and some from glass..Thanks!

There are couple of materials in which sunglassess are made of. 1. Glass Lenses
- it's has number of advantages: -Exceptional scratch resistance (don't need scratch resistant coating).
-Excellent optical clarity.
-Anti-reflective (AR) coating adheres to glass very well.Disadvantages are:-At least twice the weight of plastic or polycarbonate lenses.
-About 25 to 40 percent thicker than polycarbonate and high index plastic lenses.
-Can shatter or chip easier than lenses made of other materials.
-Require a special coating to provide 100% UV protection Second type is Plastic Lenses:Advantages:

Lightweight - About half the weight of glass lenses.
Plastic lenses accept tints easily.
More shatter - resistant than glass lenses.

Disadvantages:

About 20 to 35 percent thicker than polycarbonate or high index plastic lenses.
Require scratch-resistant coating for added durability.
Require a special coating to provide 100% UV protection.
Another type is Polycarbonate Lenses:Advantages:
Safest lens material - 10 times more impact resistant than other lenses.
Thin - About 20 to 25 percent thinner than plastic or glass lenses.
Lightweight - About 20 percent lighter than plastic lenses.
Blocks 100 percent UV rays without needing a special coating.
Disadvantages:
Requires scratch-resistant coating for durability.
Peripheral vision may be slightly less clear in strong prescription powers.
More lens reflections than glass or plastic lenses (AR coating recommended). High Index Plastic Lenses-Advantages:

Lightweight - Between plastic and polycarbonate lenses in weight.
Thin - About 15 to 30 percent thinner than plastic lenses.
Better peripheral optics than polycarbonate lenses (for prescription sunglasses).
Disadvantages:
Requires scratch-resistant coating for durability.
More lens reflections than glass or plastic lenses (AR coating recommended)

Can you put prescription lenses into sunglasses frames? I have to get my eyes checked in about two weeks and I've gotten the use out of my current pair of glasses so I'm pushing to get new glasses. My...

Yes it is possible.. Oakley makes RX lenses specifically for some of the frames. the previous poster makes some invalid points in terms of what you are talking about. Oakley makes many more frames than just "sporty" frames that fit tight to your head. Oakley glasses are held onto your head by the shape AND by the hydrophilic rubber pieces (called Unobatnium) in glasses that are less wrapped. You mentioned that these looked like Rx Frames / regular glasses frames. Please note, Oakley makes RX frames, as well.

If you go to Oakley's website and look under Rx Sunglasses, you'll see which can be made with prescription lenses, AND ones that you can have an Optometrist cut regular lenses to fit.

However, please note, many Opticians, have lab do their cutting work and some labs will NOT cut for an Oakley frame. If your eye doc allows you to take him a frame, then he should be able to have it cut. It depends on the lab. It may be easier to find a Optometrist with his won lab on site. Those are places that will custom cut.
Of course, if you, as the previous poster stated, do go with a very sunsglasses / sport model, you'll need to stick with the Oakley specific sport sunglasses lens as the lense curvature may be hard to match.

How does one get the clear lense off the interior light in the 2008 model ford focus

If you look very closely there should be a small groove to insert a small flat screwdriver and gently pry the lense out, it has small plastic fingers that lock into the housing. They will pop out with a little force just dont go crazy or they will break. Good luck

I really like the 'full-face" US Diver Seal Mask and/or Aqua Seal Vista googles. (Both are actually swim goggles, not masks). However, I have an eye correction of 13 diopters, requiring prescription lens....

This shouldn't be a problem at all. It is better to have a eyeglass kit made that allows the use of prescription lenses to be installed inside of the mask. Remind your optometrist that glasses are regularly made and fitted to the inside of facemasks of self contained breathing apparratus (SCBA) for firefighters. You don't grind lenses for the facemask, you have the lenses mounted inside, and when you wear the mask, the glasses are held close to your eyes. The beauty of this is that when you buy a new mask, you just refit your kit into the new mask.
Best regards, --W/D--, a former firefighter, 25 years.

I am trying to change the element on a candy cna 166

Yes, you do have to lever it out, if you have removed the center nut completely, try and pull the metal plate as far forward as you can, this should expose the rubber seal, this is what is holding the heater in.
Lever round the edge of the seal, and try to force it out, be careful,as you can break the plastic moulding (expensive)
If this does not work, then try cutting through the seal with a stanley knife, and remove it piece by piece.
You will have no trouble getting the new one back in.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Prescription Scuba Mask

The inserts would be specifically for your eye prescription and are bonded to the lens. You can even get bifocals done for your mask and also correct for astigmatism. Your specific prescription can be fit into any dive mask that you choose so there is no need to buy a new mask. prescription scuba mask Manufacturers also offer scuba masks with lenses already premade and the same prescription in both eyes. You choose the prescription that fits your needs. Some divers find this adequate to use underwater. The premade prescription mask would obviously be cheaper than custom made scuba diving masks. Personally, I wear contact lenses when I dive and have had no problems (besides losing one after I surfaced and got hit by a wave). I wear the daily soft lenses and don't notice them when I dive. I've never dove with hard contact lenses so I do not know how they would respond to pressure. If you wear lenses, you should consult your eye doctor to see what they recommend in your case before you dive with lenses for the first time. Let them decide whether you would be better off with a prescription scuba mask or diving with contacts. One site I found which seems very professional is www.prescriptiondivemasks.com. They even have a testimonial from Cathy Church, the renowned underwater photographer, on their site so it can't be too shabby.

Yukon yd-100 lens removal for camera fitting seems like thred is broken

When you say lens, did you unscrew the eye piece or the actual lense? because the eyepiece is meant to fit your adaptor for 35mm cameras etc. but the actual front lense should be tightly sealed and thread locked to make your glass (scope) waterproof to some extent and to protect the alignment of the other lenses within your scope. If it is possible your local camera shop may have the ability to re-align and seal your scope, but if not do you have a warranty? and if not even that, if i were you i would align and accraglass your piece back together, it's a last ditch solution that should last for years.
