Question about AVG Antivirus + Antispyware 9.0 for PC (892401001683)

1 Answer

Sometime back i had installed AVG on my laptop but soon enough it started blocking out a lot of the programmes that installed.SO i uninstalled it and deleted a few of the files too. But even now some programmes dont open and i get a message saying windows cannot access the specific file.You may not have appropriate permissions to access the item. I know AVG is causing the problem because i still have a scan with AVG when i right click . Please suggest any method to get rid of this problem. Ive tried deleting it from my registry too but doesnt work.

Open your control panel and check if every program associated with AVG is been uninstalled on your computer? you can also open your firewall settings and for a minute try to disable it, just to know if the firewall is miss-configured which might block your programs from from starting. also make sure you are log on as Administrator
Let me know if this solutions works for you.

    Did you try disabling your firewall? and what is the error message that pop up if you want to delete the AVG existing folder? you can kill any program process with microsoft process explorer at:http://download.cnet.com/Process-Explore... . check for the active AVG process and kill it.
    Let me know if this helps?

Unable to uninstall avg

Use the uninstal option in control panel but watch for AVG telling you it cannot be uninstalled. If that happens, install Advanced System Care from iobit and use their uninstal programme.

What is rundll error on Dell Inspiron 1420?

I would uninstall AVG, it gets in the way and is not very good after running Advanced System Care from IOBIT. It is a freeware programme and will clean up the spurious stuff that gives you errors. Then install Microsoft Essentials as your anti virus programme. That is also free.

AVG Antivirus is a popular security software that is available both in free and paid versions. There can be many reasons for you to uninstall AVG Antivirus from your computer. Some of the most common reasons are:

* You want to upgrade to the latest AVG Antivirus version and you are unable to do so without uninstalling the current version.
* The AVG Antivirus installation is corrupt and you want to uninstall and then reinstall it to repair the issues.
* You feel the AVG is slowing down your PC and you want to opt for lighter antivirus software such as Antivirus Plus.

If you cannot uninstall AVG Antivirus using the Add or Remove Programs utility available in the Control Panel, you may use one of the following methods to uninstall AVG Antivirus from the system:

Using AVG Remover Tool

1. Open AVG Tools Download web page.
2. Here, search for and download the AVG Remover tool for the AVG software you have installed on your computer.
3. After the download is complete, use this utility to uninstall AVG Antivirus from the system.

You may be asked to restart your PC a few times during the removal process. So, it is best to use this feature when you are not doing any other work on your computer.

When you uninstall AVG Antivirus software by using the AVG Remover tool, the following related files and folders are removed from the system:

* All AVG user
* Virus Vault content
* User files
* Registry entries
* Any other information related to AVG

AVG Remover tool removes a lot of data related to AVG from your computer. During this process, the chances are quite high that some essential Windows or user file is removed. This is the reason why, you must use this method only if you cannot remove AVG using Add or Remove Programs.

Avg 8 removal problem....

This could be because you did not follow a proper procedure for an anti-virus removal. Nevermind, follow these instruction:
  1. Download CleanUp utility from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301.
  2. Install it and run it
  3. Scroll down and select AVG products and remove them one after the other (if there are more than one)
  4. Restart the computer and install your new anti-virus program
Kindly get back if need any further help

Avg 8 removal problem....

hi iam sharu
The recommended procedure is a time consuming one. You must download the latest version of AVG from the website, and then run it.

1) Click on the following link and download AVG to your desktop

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0

2) Double-click on the downloaded file to run it
3) AVG will present you with three options to choose from. Choose the Uninstall option to completely uninstall AVG

Add/Remove Components - choose if you want to add/remove some components or reinstall the entire AVG program
Repair installation - this option repairs or reinstalls missing or damaged components of AVG
Uninstall - this option removes the AVG program from your PC

4) Once the uninstall has completed, restart your computer. You can then proceed to install another antivirus or install AVG again.

Uninstall of software

Sounds like you did not do things in the correct order or you did not reboot between the AVG uninstall and the Kapersky install, so that it looked like AVG was still loaded.

Since Kapersky is not installed, the best way to proceed is to start from a fresh reboot, download and re-install the AVG free edition to get the registry entries corrected. Don't bother with updates as it is coming back out again. Reboot and uninstall AVG. Reboot again and verify AVG is gone before attempting to install the Kapersky.

AVG free can be downloaded from free.grisoft.com assuming you mean the 8.0 version, not 7.5, otherwise try downloading from www.filehippo.com and select the older version.

Unwanted down loads

if you have an anti virus programme installed, start your pc in safe mode (F8 while booting up) and then run your anti virus and anti spyware programme and also check your temp folder for suspicious folders dated arond the time you downloaded, the only free good anti virus programme is AVG 8 free if you don't have one.
