Question about Craftsman Keyless Entry Pad - 53876

1 Answer

I have a Craftsman Model 139.53982SRT / 13953995SRT Garage Door opener. It has a: Securirty + 3 Function Remote 139.53681 and the Premium Control Console 139.53687 They work just fine. My Security + Keyless Entry Pad has stopped working. I put in a new battery. Still, when I attempt to enter my 4 digit pin number, the whole pad just starts blinking and the garage door won't go up or down.. This happend the evening my after Brother was mowing my lawn. He told me he tried to get into my garage to find my gas can. I know he must have done something because the vacation lockout feature had been enabled on the Premium Control Console, which I turned off. So it is fine. My best guess is that maybe he did something to the Wireless Entry Pad when he tried to enter my Code? What do I need to do to get the keyless entry pad working again? Thank you for your time , Von Ehman

SOURCE: My Sears Craftsman Model 139 53684 Keyless remote

Make sure that when inserting the 9 volt battery that those red & black wires are not somehow pinched, twisted or stretched. I just fixed mine... The battery terminal was crushing one of the wires and preventing the battery to supply power to the keypad. I found it out by NOT securing the battery case door and my opener worked fine. Securing the battery case door with the screw and thightening, my opener DID NOT WORK. It was that simploe of a FIX!

SOURCE: Craftsman Keyless Entry Pad 03100431 programing

If you do not have the instructions that came with it, you might have to track them down online. Go to the Craftsman website and search the model number. Unfortunately, they all program differently!

Also, be sure to check the balance of your garage door to ensure that the springs are properly counter-balancing the weight of the garage door. If the springs are fatigued and the door is heavy, the lifespan of the garage door opener will be significantly shortened. You can find some maintenance tips and tricks at our website.

Make sure the green light in the wall control is not flashing. That locks out the remote. If it is press and hold for 3 seconds the lock button on the wall control. It could just be that your remote has failed.
