Question about NetGear WNDR3400 N600 Wireless Dual Band Router (WNDR3400100NAS)

1 Answer

WNDR3400. Used wired and wireless. Works fine for a couple of hours and then Internet light goes from green to amber and I lose connection. I shut everything down for at least an hour and then switch back on. All connections are fine for a while and then go down again. ISP is Comcast cable. I have disconnected router and hot wired directly to modem and internet connectivity is constant and strong. Please help.

Hello
Try a reboot of router.
Unplug all cables except power.
Hold reset switch in for 30 seconds
Reconnect router.
From what you describe router may be heating up causing it to loose connection.Try relocating it away from any heat or standing it up for airflow across it.

You can also try having comcast relese and renew your ip address.

Well, this seems to be an issue specific to the desktop computer. Please disable the firewall on the concerned computer and then check if that resolves the issue.

Netgear wpn824 v2 loses connection The internet light blinks amber every few minutes and I lose connection to the internet.

if you're online and loses connection every couple of minutes, that most likely be and issue with you ISP. it's intermittent connection issue with the server or might be the modem if it's more than a year.. better is to contact your ISP to check on their end, also to create a work order to investigate and monitor the issue.

Losing wireless connection

Your phone frequency must be the same with frequency of your wireless router. To avoid this you access the web GUI of your router page..http://192.168.1.1..( in most cases)...and go to the wireless settings...look for the frequency tab and change the settings ( you can try 1-10). DO trial and error...
