Question about Whirlpool GEW9250 Electric Dryer

Open Question

Model GEW9250PLO duet dryer - press start in any mode and it clicks then sensing light comes on - dryer will not start. I have cleaned the vent, took front lower panel off and cleaned area. Removed wires on thermal fuse and tested with ohm meter on Rx1 - got 0 ohms. Hot wired the wires from thermal fuse together just as a by-pass test and dryer still clicks then goes to sensing. Please help -- thanks

SOURCE: Can I test dryer timer to see if its any good?

Check if you have 220 at the terminal block. The power is 220 hot to hot and 110 for each leg to ground. Generaly the has two speeds (220 regular and 110 for gentle). There are two heating elements that are ciontrolled the same way. The gentle cycle uses one leg and the heat ing elements use the other. The answer is how the dryer is set. Knowing that and using elmination you will find the problem in the controlls because the heating elements work or thew are open. The motor has two windings or it works or it works or has an open. I could not find a schematic but you may see it on the back oe a piece of paper in the controlls. I have faith in you finding the problem very quickly from what you said and what I told you. Good luck. Don't forget to cycle (turn them off and on) your breakers to make sure one is not intermittent.

Please if you have never done this before be carefull, electricity is dangerous and doent discriminate as to whot it zaps. I hope thi is helpful.

My front loading dryer Whirlpool Duet GEW9250PLO will not come on even after resetting.

check for electrical power if you have 220+ then check the door switch, jump the wirers if necessary. If switch ok, then move timer to 20 minutes and press start--if timer ok then you must have a broken wire in the wiring harness. Good luck.

Possible door s/w or thermal fuse. If its blowing thermal fuses with a clean and avg vent run check the relay, cycle unit with no heat fuction if the heat still comes on replace the relay board. Call your local servicer.

DUET Dryer M# GEW9200LQ0 - Not cuttinh on

coasty...I'm a believer in starting small and going bigger. First, turn off power at the breakers and then back on. You must do this on both sides of the line. If this resets everything, you're good. If not, check the rest of the wiring. Still no, then you're going to need that circuit board.
