It sounds like the left thumb stick is not centering correctly. It could be an electronics problem, or it could be a problem with where the thumb stick physically rests on the circuit board. You have two options, essentially.
1) You take it apart yourself and try to fix it. There are a multitude of videos all over YouTube about taking apart your controller and putting it back together safely. Keep in mind, however, that this will void the warranty on your controller.
2) You replace it. If you don't feel comfortable taking your controller apart, you can just replace it. Of course, if you are going to go this route, you may as well try to fix your broken controller first.
You could also send it in to Sony, but by the time you pay for shipping and whatnot, you may as well just buy a new one.
Unfortunately, the Sixaxis controller is not made with nearly as much care or quality as the PS2's Dualshock controller. The plastic is thinner and cheaper, and the circuit boards are more poorly-constructed. However, it is still probably fixable at home.

Hi.

There is probably something stuck under one of the analogue sticks or the crosshatch button. Like a hair or crumbs for example.
You could try and open up the controller and clean the internal parts that control movement. However, be very carefull if you do this as there are parts that can fall out and be very difficult to put back in place.
If after this the controller still banks to the right you will need a new controller.

Regards.

Ps3 controller manual

You plug in the usb cable to charge the controller and connect it to the ps3 for the first time. You use the left analog stick to move around the dashboard when the ps3 is turned on and the 'X' button to change settings, go to the online browser, playstation store, or start a game. You can back out by pressing 'O' or holding the 'PS' button, which allows you to change a controller number (say controller #1 to #2 with two controllers), turn off the system or turn off the controller. Press (not hold) the controller to look around the dashboard while in a game and select say "Quit Game', or go into settings and change something around to your liking. Every game also comes with the controls and for what the buttons are. (Stick on left is the, "Left Analog Stick," right is "Right Analog Stick," from right to left starting at the green triangle shaped button is the, "Triangle," "Circle," "X," and "Square," buttons. The four buttons on the left going in all directions is the D-pad, and the triggers on the back going from the top left to bottom left and top right to bottom right are, "L1," "L2," "R1," "R2").

Black Screen in Defector mission of COD7 (Black Ops)? In Call of Duty black ops, in Defector mission, after pushing the door, car explodes and screen goes to black but sound remain properly. I have the ps3...

I just had this problem. The screen was blank, except for the direction and compass in the right hand corner, but the sound is still there. Seems to be a bug. I simply shot up a few people, went to the door, waited about 4 seconds without pushing the door, then just before the car came towards us, hit the square but to help push. Then it seemed ok. If you push from the start you may find the screen goes blank.

Have you tried hitting the reset button on the controller? While it's plugged in via USB, get something small and hit the reset button on the back. (Right next to the front and center screw)

My playstation 3 will light up green then yellow

1. Try turning the ps3 on and off and then hitting eject.

2. Do Not try to open up the playstation. You may do more damage than good.

3. Try to halfway insert another game, cd, or dvd into the playstation 3 and press eject.

4. Here's the one that worked for me. I slid another compact disc into the console almost all the way but still holding on to it and pushed up as I pulled the disc back out. To my suprise another disc began to slide out with it. I had no idea how many discs were actually inside the ps3, but when I hit eject the original game that was in there still would not come out, so I new something still wasn't right. I repeated the process a few more times and low and behold, I had a total count of four, aside from the game. At last, eject finally pushed hubby's NBALive out of the playstation.

My controller won't recognize the system, and i have no cable to connect them together, can i get a quick fix?

Yep,

Eventually you will need a cord to charge it, if you push the PS button and the red lights flash it means that it has at least some charge.

With your PS3 turned on and at the main screen; look at the top of your controller where you see the numbers 1-4. Behind that (pretty much on the back top) you'll see a tiny pin hole. Get something to push the button in that hole when you hit the PS button and this will automatically sinc up your controller.

If this doesn't work, get a cable and connect the controller to the PS3 and push this button again.

If I've helped you, please give me 4 thumbs up!

try to reset it. look at the back of the controller, to the right of the screw hole, there's a tiny hole. turn the controller on and push something thin in it (a pen would do), and it should reset.

Sixaxis controller turns left

The solution is simply to buy a new controller, or get a cheaper one like 'madcats' or 'Logitech' which is about half the price of the SONY brand.
But you need to consider this if buying a brand other than SONY;
it might not last as long maybe about 6 months-a year before it gets funny with the controls. Also, most of them needs a USB receiver and batteries for the controller to use wirelessly for PS3. Which I think is troublesome, cause you can't charge it like the SONY dual shocks, and have to spend more money for new batteries or rechargables. You also need to sacrafice a USB slot on the PS3 for the receiver to work wirelessly with the controller, and I have no idea what the response is like when playing games, it might not play as smoothly as the original SONY Dual Shock.

PS3 Controller reverses after cut scene in Uncharted

Go to settings. Scroll down to system settings. In there scroll down to Resore factory Defaults. After that, power down your PS3. Unplug it for two minutes. During that time restet your router(if you have one). After the router has reset plug in the PS3 and power it up. The problem should be resolved. If this doesn't fix it, on your XMB go to games. There will be two files. One has Game utility data, the other has game play data. Delete both of the file that have Drakes Fortune in it. Re-install the game. You will have to start over, bu this will should fix any problems you have! Good Luck, and Happy Gaming! If this was helpful, please take a moment and rate the solution. Thanks for using FixYa!
