Our Brother MFC-8840D printer (which was donated, so it came without any user manuals), has a message saying please Clean Drum. I have no idea how to do this. Can you tell me?

Drum has too much dust
you need to have clean your drum use those duster
or you can just replace your drum unit
if you are in San Francisco,
you can send me an email then I can show you how to do that

Dark streaks on both sides of copy how do I clean this mfc ?

i ama assuming this is an bro 8840d. if so, print one of your internal reports from the control panel. if streaks are there, then you probably need a drum unit. if internal reports look good, then lift the feeder on top of machine, and cleaned the little, narrow piece of glass to the left of your big glass.

razors

Brother MFC-8840D printer w/false paper jam indication.

With my Brother 8840D I have had paper jams that when cleared would not delete from the display nor would the machine operate until I unplugged the machine for around eight hours. I guess it is a sort of reset or reboot.

Unable to remove drum for cleaning

Remove the toner cartridge from the drum casing using the release lever. The drum is not to be removed from the drum casing. Just rotate the drum using the side button until you see the dirt mentioned. Use cotton swab to wipe dirt off. Be careful not to damage it. If that doesn't work, you need a need drum which is closely the same price as getting a toner cartridge. Refer to your Brother MFC 8840D manual that came with the machine. Alternatively, you can refer to the online manual.

Clean drum

Can you install and bring up the original software for this? It should have an option to "clean drum" for you. Otherwise it might be time to replace the toner.
