Test the board outside the case in barebone configuration (CPU & one memory module, keyboard, all power connectors), clear CMOS with main A/C power cable removed from PSU and see if that changes anything.

First open the cpu cover then pull cmos cell from motherboard for 10 seconds. Reconnect RAM memory.Processor and it's fan. Reconnect both connection to harddrive change the SATA or IDE cable of harddrive. Remove pci card if any. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

  • Make sure harddrive is recognized in bios.

For that when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or del or ALT+F2 key to enter in bios.

Then make sure harddrive is recognized.

If it is recognized then need to repair windows with windows disk.

My MSI AE2220-26SUS 21.5 in computer appears to have wiped out windows 7. I can turn it on but when it starts to boot up, I get enter disc and reboot, is the problem in the bios settings?

Probably your bios settings, check your power and data cables are connected properly, and change them if necesary, if this dont work, boot from a live cd OS or hirens boot to check if there is a hdd with info on it... may be a hdd or win failure too.

easy..
but only if you will agree to loose all your data,,
plan a

when you turn on your computer press f3 continuously, and reboot your computer(restore or reinstall).

plan b
buy a windows CD,, can be windows 7 or windows 8,,, base on your computer's bit (32 or 64),, buy a CD wich compatible with your computer, which have the windows booting files, and turn on your computer and open the CD pocket and put the CD in your computer, and turn it off,, and turn it on again,, wait.. for a few second, it might say (press any key to boot with CD),, and hit enter it will install the windows that was in the cd. and there you have a new computer.

Try turning it off from the wall open the case and remove the ram (memory sticks ) from the mother board if there is one stick carefully clean the metal contacts with a new white eraser and reinstall it (if there are two sticks only replace one stick at a time ) if it boots with one stick then this was the problem if it doesnt boot and you have two memory sticks swap them and try again if it boots this time try shuting it back down and replace the second stic if it stops working again remove the faulty stick and replace it with a good one .(make sure you turn the computer of and unplug it every time you remove the memory .

I hope this helps Andrew a

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. file\boot\bcd status 0xc000014c info an error occurred while reading the boot configuration data. I dont have the cd

hi Friend, In this case I would recommend you that as soon as you turn on the system start tapping the key "F8", you will get into the "Advanced Boot Options" menu.
In that list, select the option the last known good configuration and try to restart it. If it happens again then again try the same option for 3 times.

G31TM-P21 normally boots with series of beeps. Now will not boot properly from CD start sequence (for reinstalling op system) and gives a short beep about every 5 seconds. No information found on MSI...

Hi,
According to the sequence of beeps your getting from your computer, ther is a possibility that there is a problem with the memory module or RAM on your computer. Try reseating the memory then try to boot up again.
Cheers!!

When I turn on the power, the fans start to turn but then quit after a couple seconds.

hi,

i,d suggest CPU/Memory or motherboard Fault.
try removing 1 stick of memory, then re-boot. ( if theres 2 In )
remove the cpu fan, Check for Dust Blockage, remove CPU. And re-seat-seal-replace Fan. ( re-boot )
remove power from Case ( mains power ) remove side panel, locate CMOS Battery ( Silver coin-Cell ) On motherboard for 10 Seconds, then replace, repower and boot up.

Any of these could resolve your problems.

I've read this problem due to new hardware interferences with desktop computers, all they had to do is change a few pins around on the harddrives.. since this is a laptop, and is quite difficult and dodgy to access the hardware, the only other suggestion is to reinstall windows with a recovery disk, or windows CD-ROM.

Hope this helps :)

Hi,

Take out the two last cards you added and boot again.

Then turn it off and insert only one card at the time to find which one is the faulty.

Good Luck!!!
