Open Question

I have the d.v.d recorder model 980 it seems to be fine whilst watching d.v.d,s but i no longer am able to get it to record, the remote control is broken but i have a universal. The biggest problem is that it keeps shutting down & displaying a code:-AB FO9 116 & sometimes a different code shows. Like AB FFDOE6. Then it wont function at all. SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

sounds like a belt is slipping or broke, if it's slipping just keep on trying to eject it, if it's broke you will have to open it and manually push the cdrom draw out

SOURCE: won't record

I've just spoken to a friend who also has one of these older Philips recorders & he has the same problem.

As per my previous post, he fixed his problem by locating old stocks of blanks. New audio discs seem to have been manufactured & optimised for fast writing speeds (up to 32x speed) & this is causing the problem (you can't write at x1 or x2 speed to these new speedy discs).

Trying a few different brands of discs to try out is a whole lot cheaper than a repair. I suggest when you find a brand that works, you stock up on these discs as it seems they will become ever rarer.

Good luck!

Hi
You only have one digital tuner so will have to watch analogue whilst recording or view through the TV tuner if you can.
My mother has just bought a sh893m and I can guess what word the sh is the beginning of it has 4 letters and smells!

Cannot record whilst watching another channel

It requires two tuners to do what you want. Unless the DVD recorder has a built-in tuner, this is not possible.
Satellite company DVRs can do this because they can have multiple tuners inside them.

DVD recorder only records the channel being watched. How do you record and watch a seperate channel with satelite tv

You need to connect the TV to the aerial output socket on the DVD player. If this is not clear get back to me. Then you can record one channel whilst watching another.

Dmr-es10 dvd recorder - cant get the machine to record digital channels form tv

Channels 1-5 are I believe for Analogue reception. To record from my digital Freeview box, I'm plugged into SCART port 2 (bottom most port on right hand side of machine as you look at it from the front). Use your remote to change the channel to A2 with the <CH> rocker button just above the video+ button on the controller. This will then record whatever channel your freeview box is set to - the only pain is you can't watch a separate channel whilste recording.

Kind Regards

Help! Stopped Recording

Do you have a remote? Some camcorders you have to hit the record pause button on the remote and then hit pause. It then begins recording. I hope this works for you.
