Question about Optoma MovieTime DV10 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

The low lamp life indication message is constantly on at startup of projector until I press the menu button. I have changed the lamp but the message continues to show up each time I start the projector. I even went into the menu and selected not to warn when the lamp life is low but no change. How do I get the message to stop?

Replacement bulb is from lampexperts.com. I've had good luck with their bulbs in the past. I've taken it in to a local repair shop to have the color wheel replaced since it started making that insufferable noise. They replaced the color wheel and said they reset the bulb so it wouldn't have that problem again. It's been 3months now and haven't had the problem and the color wheel is working well also. Thanks. Perhaps you could post directions how to reset the lamp hour monitor to help someone else resolve this problem and I could file it for future reference. Thanks!

The lamp timer on the Hitachi projector must be reset whenever the lamp has been replaced. The "Lamp" indicator on the display will light red or the "Change the Lamp" message will display when the lamp timer needs to be reset. Hitachi recommends that the lamp timer never be reset without replacing the lamp and to always reset the timer when the lamp is replaced. The message functions of the projector will not function properly if the lamp timer is not correctly reset.

  • Turn the power on. Press the "Reset" button for three seconds until the "Lamp xxxx hr" message appears on the lamp timer on the bottom of the screen.

  • 2

Press the "Menu" button on the remote control while the lamp timer is displayed.

  • 3

Press the left arrow button. Select "0" and wait until the timer display clears.

This projector uses a high-pressure lamp which must be handled carefully and properly. Improper handling may result in accidents, injury, or create a fire hazard.
Lamp life may differ from lamp to lamp and according to the environment of use. There is no guarantee of the same lifetime for each lamp. Some lamps may fail or terminate their life in a shorter period of time than other similar lamps.
If the projector indicates that the lamp should be replaced, i.e., if the LAMP REPLACE INDICATOR lights up, replace the lamp with a new one IMMEDIATELY after the projector has cooled down.
( Follow carefully the instructions in the LAMP REPLACEMENT section of this manual. ) Continuous use of the lamp with the LAMP REPLACE INDICATOR lighted may increase the risk of lamp explosion.
A Lamp may explode as a result of vibration, shock or degradation as a result of hours of use as its lifetime draws to an end. Risk of explosion may differ according to the environment or conditions in which the projector and
    lamp are being used.
IF A LAMP EXPLODES, THE FOLLOWING SAFETY PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN.
If a lamp explodes, disconnect the projector's AC plug from the AC outlet immediately. Contact an authorized service station for a checkup of the unit and replacement of the lamp. Additionally, check carefully to ensure that
there are no broken shards or pieces of glass around the projector or coming out from the cooling air circulation holes. Any broken shards found should be cleaned up carefully. No one should check the inside of the projector
except those who are authorized trained technicians and who are familiar with projector service. Inappropriate attempts to service the unit by anyone, especially those who are not appropriately trained to do so, may result in an
accident or injury caused by pieces of broken glass.

How do i reset my xr-10x lamp life on the projector

Hold down the MENU/HELP, ENTER and down arrow buttons and press the standby/on button. Keep holding down the 3 above butons until the LAMP 0000H appears on the screen. That will indicate that the timer has been reset. Please note that all 3 buttons MUST be held down when the ON button is pressed. I can tell you that it may take a few tries to get it correct. Holding down the 3 buttons at the same time is tricky.
